I really enjoyed most of last night, but only Mark and Chelsea were spectacular and that is really only one of two routines since the show started, for me. Having said that I might have been jaded by watching Australia's version as well... which might lead me to complete burnout of the show when Canadian SYTYCD starts this fall.

You know it's sad when something mediocre like Sabra/Dominic's Disco (their first routine) has been better than everything this season so far except for three or four routines.

Not every slightly effeminate man is gay, especially when it comes to dancers. Not that it would matter at all if it were, because he makes me believe he's into his partner when he dances, which is all that matters.

I don't really buy the "going first is the kiss of death" scenario that Nigel force fed us. Someone always has to go first and how is it any different going first in Week 1 versus going first in Week 2? Did the couple that went first in the first three seasons also get eliminated? Oh, and I am one of the few that liked the Jamie and Rayven routine for what it was. It was a happy routine done to a very poppy song. I thought they did fine with it. I wish they were still around over Chris and the Ghetto Rat.

I think their tango would have been boring if he wasn't acting into it, just like it would have been technically lacking if she wasn't in it. I know the show is sort of about dancing (more about popularity) but hell if I know technique. What's the point in knowing the steps if you can't sell the dance, which I think he did by capturing the attitude better? I think Chelsie's excellent and she's my favorite girl, but I think every routine Mark and Chelsie have had benefitted from both of them being involved. I don't think either one is carrying the other.

I thought he was doing hip hop during his broadway routine in week 1, was ungainly during his waltz last week, and did fuck all nothing during his hip hop routine. Doesn't he have any tricks or anything? At this rate, Twitch is only slightly better than Musa, but at least Musa was a trick machine (okay, more than slightly better than Musa). I'd rather watch Dominic spin on his head than the low impact popping Twitch has to offer. Outside of Comfort and Chris, Twitch is the least talented dancer in the competition. But damn! William thunking Jessica's head on the floor was brutal. And Perfect William didn't really get called out on it. I also thought he was cheesing it up at several points but really the whole routine wasn't a winner. Safe - Kheri/Twitch, Courtney/Gev, Joshua/Katee, Chelsie/Mark - in fact I think these four couples are 8 of the top ten and the winner (Joshua!) Everyone else is fair game for a solo. I think ALL of the remaining girls are in jeopardy. Will is obviously safe. Thayne's grin is starting to get painful to look and if the judges tell Matt he needs to dance more "into the floor" one more time I will bust a blood vessel - he's ten feet tall, he can't even see the floor from up there! But I still think those two are safe for now. Chris on the other hand should start packing.

Twitch is good enough to be there. But then again, I'm no dancer and don't necessarily know all the great technique like so many Sucksters somehow seem to know. I just know what looks good to me.

I really can't see anything in what Twitch did this week that was superior to Will's hip-hop from last week.
