Nobody ever agrees with me on this, but I hated Field of Dreams. One of the few movies I've ever walked out of. Oh, and Evita. Seriously? Madonna wins a
Golden Globe for best actress??? It was a fucking 2 hour long music video!

Field of Dreams always makes me cry like a baby, but soft/baseball has been something that my dad & I bonded over for years.
Some of it is a bit treacly, but I don't care. I didn't like The natural, though. |

Sorry. I just find baseball to be boring. Although not as boring as Kevin Costner.

It's weird to read this thread and see most all of my favorite movies getting ripped to shreds by someone or another. :p
I'm basically just going to list the ones I've already read in this thread that I agree with because I can't think of any others off the top of my head; pretty much all the ones already mentioned by others that I'm not listing I either liked (or loved) or haven't seen. I don't hate any of the movies I'm listing, but they're ones that I don't get the appeal of: The English Patient - I love most great epic dramas/romances, so I thought I'd love this movie. It seemed made for me, yet I was just bored for some reason. The Lord of the Rings trilogy - It was beautiful, but I don't think I've ever watched another more boring, predictable, by-the-numbers movie that everyone just raves about as much. When the wizard died, I thought "Finally, something unpredictable", only to later find out that nope, he's of course still alive. And the ending of the third movie must be the longest ending of any movie ever. Star Wars 1-3 - I absolutely love the first three Star Wars (4-6), and in comparison I feel like 1-3 are abominations. George Lucas has gone through some transformation from then to now that has replaced all the creativity and fun of the first three with dull, leaden special effects wizardry. Jurassic Park - I just didn't find it very interesting. Dreamgirls - It bored me so much I didn't even make it through the entire movie. The 40-Year-Old Virgin - It had so much hype, I was expecting something much funnier. Big Fish - I love most Tim Burton movies, but this one struck me as just too saccharine. Sleepless in Seattle/You've Got Mail - I didn't like either of these Hanks/Ryan movies at all, though I loved them in Joe vs. the Volcano. |

There's something about Mary. I remember everyone talking about this film like it was the funniest shit in the past decade and I barely chuckled. It blew
big time. Then I'm pretty sure it was the same people who made Shallow Hal, which I adored and it didn't even get half the acclaim Mary got.
Batman Begins was just okay. Why everyone licked it's asshole is beyond me. I'm thinking it's only because Batman & Robin lowered the bar so much that everyone expected BB to be complete dreck. Lord of the Rings. I find them coma-inducing. 40 year old virgin, Old School and all those raunchy comedies. I found them okay, but not nearly as good as people said. Ditto for all the Pixar movies. There are slightly entertaining at best. Once you've seen one of them, you've seen all of them. I've never seen of the Matrixes but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like them. Oh and Will Smith movies. For some reason, everyone I know seem to go apeshit for them and they're all horrible. |

My fam and I were sitting in the living room last night when The Phantom Menace came on. We meh-ishly started letting it play, when Mr. Shorty asked,
"wait...is this the one with...." and my son finished by saying "Jar-Jar Binks? YES"

I thought of another one. Waiting for Guffman.
I LOOOOOVE Christopher Guest's movies, but this one did nothing for me. It made me sad. |

Another one that comes to mind is The Family Stone. I don't think it was highly praised. I'm just still pissed that I had to sit through it while others around me just loved it.Not really my type of movie but I love Rachel McAdams so I rented that a while back and surprisingly loved it. The only part that got a bit blech was the romantic subplot w/ Claire Danes and the cheddarific ending before the mom died. |

just didn't enjoy her day off.

Braveheart - I've tried to watch it many times and every time I wake up during the credits.
The Sixth Sense - I figured it out about 20 minutes into it and was bored through the rest. Labrynth - I desire to throw the whole thing into the Bog of Eternal Stench. Pirates of the Caribbean 3 - I loved the first 2. This one had way to much of the wooden, lollipop headed Kiera Knightley to even be remotely enjoyable. |

Gladiator - absolute bullshit how this beat Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Traffic for BP Erin Brockovich - Roberts is awful. Linney was snubbed for her performance in You Can Count on Me. Shitty year overall. Night at the Museum/any dumb blockbuster comedy Indiana Jones trilogy, except the first one Anything with Ferrell and Sandler And definitely 300. I don't need to watch a movie that's in fucking slow motion the whole time. |

I know I'll be slammed for this but I also hated Harold and Kumar when they went to White Castle. I loved Neil Patrick Harris in it but the movie sucked
donkey dicks.
But I've never smoked pot in my life sooooooooo... |
