thank you notes | ||

If C Joy is the Colonel's wife wouldn't they have their own embossed stationery with their own letterhead etc....and a printer could
get more cards etc... printed for her.....Does not seem realistic that she would be at the PX tryuing to find thank you cards off the circular stand.....That
is a great show however would have made an academy award movie................

The wife doesn't get her own stationary and secretary till her husband is a general (and I think they have to be in a command position). A COL's wife
wouldn't have her own stationary.
But any self respecting commanders wife who is playing the wife game would have at least a package of thank you notes at home. |

Don't forget C-Joy is greiving. She just lost a child, if she did have a package of thank you notes, it has slipped her mind. She couldn't
find her ass with both hands in that epi.

You can have a glass of wine when you're pregnant.

Anyone watch last night.
The imaginary friend was super cheesy as was Roxy's son going out with the COL's wife. I liked Roland becoming the basketball psychologist. |

Still loving it, but something occurred to me that's VERY different from the show for the feel of "realness". There needs to be more time of
just the wives and the trouble/hardship that comes when your spouse deploys. I've done both, and the hardest thing was your spouse doesn't show up in
a week, or a month. In this shows way dad has a way bigger part in the upbringing and family problems that arise. IRL he leaves, calls at bad times (these
women ALL act like newlyweds), you get the kids on a fantastic schedule and run the house like clockwork with few glitches. He/she comes home a 3-6-12+ months
later and life's a big party for about 2 days. Then you have to actually learn to live together again, work him into that fantastic kids schedule
(homework, sports that you help out with, etc), he's just wanting to go to work and take it easy after being away so long. He thinks the kids are the same
age as when he left. He see's everything you're doing and has a better idea of how it would be better. Maybe it was just me LOL.

This is a great show. I love summer TV. So much better than regular network TV.
Every character on this show is interesting. I'm sure it can be picked apart by actual military folks, but I'm not one of those, so I'm just going to enjoy it for the show it is. Teary eyed when Michael hugged the bomber's sister at the end of last week's eppy. |

I agree, I do enjoy summer tv. That is until BB starts LOL. That's a full time job if it's a good cast.
Last night was pretty good. Bar lady cleaning and getting a hotel room gets her in good with Trevor. I certainly hope she has her temporary housing permit ;-) Looks like with her giving Roxie the bar, she's gonna bit the dust. Kinda sad. Loved the gal who didn't want her kids exposed to grandpa died and btw, I may get deployed someday. 10:1 odds she marries military and it can happen anyway. For the life of me I can't imagine why Trevor didn't alert his buddy to the suspicious guy. That's what you're patroling together for!!! I want more Pamela and her family. I like nice Rolands wife better than hardass. |

I think I watched this show the first season, and didn't notice it starting up again. I watched some episodes this weekend, and everything is referencing that bombing in the bar. I don't remember anything of a storyline leading up to that. Can anyone fill me in? Thanks |

Did anyone catch tonight? Geez, that was absolutely the most intense hour!! I can't believe it wasn't the season finale!
QSF--the rival of Claudia Joy had that mean girlfriend (they were mean together anyway), who was having an affair. When her husband found out, she packed her bags to leave, and they had this nasty fight that was all physical and he snatched her keys (his freaking car ya know how men are). She got away, managed to sway Pamela out of her vehicle and she met her lovah at the hump bar. They were planning this romatic escape at a booth while the post was on lock down due to the threat of terrorists (on the inside, grenades and ammo missing). Claudia Joy was taking her daughter to college but stopped by the hump bar for a minute, daughter waiting in the car. Amanda saw him, went in to warn her mom and that's when the husband exploded (literally, he was wired to blow). If that wasn't the pieces missing, just ask or pm me.

Finally saw last weeks episode.
Did they recast the actress who plays Marta? Suddenly she looks completely different. It's like when I used to watch soap operas and suddenly a main character switches. Third grade is NOT too young to know the facts of life. Some girls get their periods as early as 5th grade. You don't want to wait around to fill them in on this stuff. I knew way younger - I just kinda assumed most did. I really don't recall what my friends knew when. They should have Michael go to the new job - that's realistic isn't it? It would be silly if he made some emotional decision to stay in the same spot. Let his career advance. ETA - I realized the logical solution would be to have Michael leave but let Mom and daughter stay so she can finish highschool with friends. Quite frankly, lots of families do this. I've known several myself. These weren't even army families. I thought having Frank and what's-her-name cheat at the exact same time was a cop out.
