The only other times they started with an odd number was BB4 (I have no idea why) and BB5 (and it ended up being an even number anyways once Natalie entered the house). Of course, I guess the starting number of houseguests doesn't really matter, since Grodner and co. can simply remove players whenever need be via double eviction weeks, fast forwards, "power couple" twists, or just because they feel like it (see: Neil).

Which is why only 13 houseguests are rumored to be the count.
