Bio:
Adam Castelli is a Hamilton, ON native who is in good company these days - his Southern Ontario hometown is also the stomping ground of
Season 5 Canadian Idol champion Brian Melo. "The best part about Hamilton is the people," Adam says. "Hamiltonians are as real as it gets.
I'm proud to be from this city."
A well-rounded individual, Adam works as a carpenter when he's not performing on stage or writing music; he has studied history at McMaster University.
True to his rock 'n' roll nature, Adam says that Jerry Lee Lewis' "Great Balls of Fire" best describes him musically. But don't be
fooled, this Harley-Davidson driving rocker has a sensitive side and admits that the classic movie Stand By Me is one of his favourites.
Adam looks to the careers of musical legends such as Bruce Springsteen for inspiration on how he'd like his own music career to go. "Bruce has been
able to put out records for years now and has a loyal fan base that continues to support him. He has had a full career in the music industry and I'd like
to model my career like that."
Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash may be musical inspiration for Adam, but the true "Idol" of his life is his father. "He is a real Idol. He worked
hard to provide our family with as much as he could. He always supported me with my musical endeavours. As you mature, you realize what a real hero is."
Adam is passionate about songwriting, and always feels a great sense of accomplishment after writing a new tune. While he loves rock music, he hopes that this
season on Canadian Idol, he'll be able to explore different musical genres and test his versatility as a performer.
No matter what happens, Adam wants to be successful by staying true to himself. "I'm a hardworking musician who's going to leave all my sweat and
blood on the stage. I'm just going to continue to do the things that got me here."
