Episode 3: "We're On Strike!"
Previously On Survivor…
Steve came back from tribal council angry at Brent and Patty for calling him a liar. While Brent continued to fight him, Patty took a different path by apologizing and attempting to mend fences. Meanwhile, a romance developed between Dennis and Rachel, causing some to feel uneasy while causing other, like Dennis' ally Steve, to feel more secure, in hopes of creating a core alliance between himself, Dennis, and Rachel. On Invindo, battle lines were drawn between the men and women with Sherry in the middle. When Camille cost Invindo both reward and immunity, and hurt her ankle in the process, she was a number one target for Eric, Jerry, Leon, and Mike. All they needed to do was sway Sherry. On the other hand, the girls were fighting to send Jerry home. In the end, Sherry jumped ship on the girls and Camille was voted out. 16 now remain, who will get voted out next?
After returning from their first tribal council, the Invindo tribe was on shaky ground after the 5-4 vote split that sent Camille home and left Jerry still in the game. Jerry realized that his ally Eric was right, he was in trouble, and after only being one vote away from getting voted out, he realized he had to start the game earlier than planned. "I should have taken Eric more seriously", Jerry told the camera. "He was right. I got four votes cast against me last night, all from the girls. Does that mean I'm going to change the person I am to appease these women? Hell no. But it does mean that I have to make sure the our core five won't be swayed in the other direction." Kym, Shelby, and Eve were equally jarred, and after polling each other and making sure that they did not cast the vote against Eve, they realized it had to been Sherry. "Sherry has been somewhat of a wildcard in the alliance the whole time", Eve said. "I should have paid attention to it more." While Eve and Shelby were more quiet about the blindside, Kym didn't hold anything back. When everyone gathered by the fire, Kym announced loudly, "So Jerry, I guess you got everything you wanted! Congratulations." Jerry nodded, not completely listening, but Eric spoke for his friend. "Kym, it's a game, it was either vote out Camille or get voted out." Kym raised her voice even louder at Eric. "Don't speak for him, Eric! Let him speak for himself! And why doesn't Sherry speak on why she totally betrayed us?!" Sherry shifted uncomfortably, but realized she owed the girls an explanation. "Honestly Kym, I never felt a part of your group. How was I supposed to trust the four of you when you guys were so tight?" Shelby then decided to speak up. "Who told you that you were an outsider? We never saw you as a fifth wheel." Sherry shrugged. "It just felt natural that the four of you younger girls would team up and take me out at five." Kym approached Sherry, who was sitting down, and stood in front of her in an intimidating manner. "Well, Sherry, that's just hearsay, and honestly, you just shot yourself in the foot, because now that its you five against us, I'm not going to just sit down and take it. All five of you will pay, trust me." There was an ominous silence after that. "I felt very threatened by Kym, the way she approached me. I didn't like it", Sherry said. "I made a decision that I think will further myself in the game. But right now, I'm a little worried about what might happen next."
The next morning at Invindo the first words that were uttered were by Leon, who woke up the entire tribe, yelling "Where's the fish?!" Everyone was startled when Leon showed them an empty pot. "This bucket was filled when I got back from Exile Island. Now it's been completely emptied", Leon explained angrily. "I wake up to put some of the fish that I caught from Exile on the fire, and the entire bucket was emptied out this morning", Leon told the camera. "I'm livid. But I know exactly who it was." Leon approached a groggy Kym. "Kym, what the hell?" he barked at her. "What? Why are you blaming me?" Kym asked innocently. "Do I need to fucking explain it?! You said last night that the entire tribe was going to pay! This is how you do it?! Completely destroying everything I had?!" Leon's tone was about as loud as anyone could imagine. The seemingly gentle giant was furious, but Kym was not fazed. In fact, she giggled to the camera. "Yeah, it was me. And honestly, I don't care. I don't eat fish. The men eat most of it. They're the ones who are going to have to pay." But everyone was pointing fingers at Kym. "Kym, you can't sabotage the tribe!" Eric said. "We need to keep winning challenges!" Kym responded coolly, "Listen, I told you guys that you were going to pay. This is my payback, let me get my payback." Leon stormed off back to his rock, where he usually fishes. "I was just livid. I couldn't take it. That bitch took everything I had. I needed some time alone." Eric shook his head. "That was really immature of you Kym", he told her. "I really don't care what you think, Eric", she responded. "I'm here to win a million dollars, and you guys just blew my chances." "Honestly Kym, you just blew them yourself", Eric said before he walked off, as well. Everyone was upset at Kym, even her allies. "It really bothered me that Kym would do something like that", Eve said. "Strategically, we need to suck up to these guys since they're controlling the game, whether we like it or not. Kym just shot herself in the foot."
Steve woke the Echira tribe up bright and early on Day 7, getting them ready for another day. "Alright guys," he said. "Today we have a lot to do. We're low on food, we're low on firewood. I think Dennis, you need to go out and fish, while John, you and a few others need to go get some more firewood. Rachel, Brent, you two can get the fire going." Everyone seemed to nod, but John hesitated. "Wait, what are you going to do?" Steve quickly told him, "I'm just going to stay here and hold down the fort." Brent and Patty rolled their eyes at each other, but nobody else seemed to notice. John motioned to the firewood that was next to the shelter, the firewood that he collected the day before. "Honestly, I think that wood will hold us at least a couple more days." Steve shook his head. "I'm not asking you, John, I'm telling you." John decided not to argue and went into the woods. Patty, Heather, and Rosie joined him. As they were collecting the firewood, John continued to gripe about Steve's leadership. "He's a fool", John told the women. "I know a lot about fire and firewood. We have enough for a while." The women nodded as they began to help him collect wood. "Steve's starting to annoy some people", Heather told the camera. "John is definitely one of them. He's the kind of guy that likes to do his own thing, and doesn't really take orders. I respect that, but I know that Steve doesn't." John continued to gripe about Steve. "I mean, when you're a good leader, you take everyone's skills and abilities into account and trust them when they don't agree with you. You actually listen to them." Patty used John's complaints to her advantage. "You know I've been saying that since the beginning, John." John nodded, "I l know that, Patty, and you're right." "I know I'm right, you don't have to tell me that", she told John as-a-matter-of-factly. "All I'm sayin' is that if were to take matters into our own hands, now would be the time to do it." John, Rosie, and Heather looked at her, and all of them nodded, considering this statement. "Honestly, I'm looking at any way I can get a reprieve", Patty told the camera. "And if that means playing both sides and getting a couple people mad at each other, so be it."
Echira and Invindo arrived at their second reward challenge, ready to compete. Jeff called them in and informed Echira of Invindo's latest cast-off, Camille. He then went through the rules of the challenge. "As you can see, there is a large pit of about one hundred wooden balls", Jeff says as he points to the circular pit in the middle of the challenge set-up. "Each tribe has thirty seconds to take as many balls as they can and then shoot them into their basket. The tribe that gets the most balls in their basket wins reward. Want to know what you're playing for?" Everyone nodded enthusiastically as Jeff uncovered a chest. "Inside this chest are several nice warm blankets, a few lanterns, and a tarp. Worth playing for?" The contestants nodded, and Jeff ordered them to take their spots.
All eight members of each tribe were competing in this challenge, but only four on each tribe could go searching for the balls. For Invindo, Eve, Kym, Eric, and Mike were chosen to get the balls while Echira chose Patty, Heather, Steve, and John. When Jeff called 'go', the survivors dove into the pit, grabbing wooden balls and quickly bringing them back to their tribe. For Invindo, Eve and Kym put some in their shirt and even in their mouth and carried back several handfuls. However, once they put theirs down, Eric andMike started throwing balls for them to catch. While Echira was doing it a much more conventional way by simply grabbing large handfuls and putting it into the pile, Invindo's strategy seemed to be more efficient, and Echira didn't have time to correct their strategies, as their time was up rather quickly. The final buzzer rang, and Invindo managed to get a whopping 47 balls while Echira only got 33. But the game wasn't over, although Echira had to sink a much higher percentage of balls than Invindo to win. Kym started off for Invindo, and got an easy basket. Dennis was next, and evened things out by getting a basket for Echira. The game would continue until all of the balls had run out. As time went on, the girls of Invindo proved themselves very efficient, as Kym, Eve, and Shelby all got four in each. The men of Invindo, weren't doing as well, with Jerry getting in zero, Eric getting in one, and Leon getting in two. Mike was the only exception, as he even surpassed the ladies and sunk five in. Sherry got in an impressive four, as well. For Echira, Dennis was the clear basketball star, getting six in, the most of all the castaways. John followed him closely with five, and Patty sunk in an impressive four. However, the other five didn't do as well, with Steve only getting one, Brent, Heather and Rosie getting none, and Rachel getting two. The scores were counted, and Invindo got 20 out of their 47. Echira was incredibly close to them, but with only 18 baskets in, it wasn't enough, and Invindo was given the tarp and blankets. "Now", Jeff concluded, "You have to send someone to Exile." The tribe quickly said Steve, and half expecting it, Steve shook the hand of his tribe before leaving the challenge area to go to Exile. The rest of the castaways headed back to camp, with Invindo excited to get their luxuries.
After coming back from camp with a chest full of blankets, lanterns, water-proof matches, and a tarp, the Invindo tribe was quite happy. "This'll definitely help us survive better, and make us more comfortable", Leon told the camera. I know Shelby has been bitchin' about being cold all night; maybe this'll shut her mouth." But as soon as the tribe returned to camp, work had to be done. Sherry went to work tending the fire while Leon, Jerry, and Eric went off getting firewood. But Leon quickly realized that both Shelby and Kym were missing. In fact, they were in the river once again, bathing in their normal spot. "I didn't feel like doing work after what happened at tribal council last night", Kym said. "So I grabbed Shelby and we went down by the river. Of course Leon had a hard time with that." After spotting them down the river, Leon called them out. "Hey girls!" he yelled to them. "When you get to it, we need to fasten the tarp onto the shelter." Kym yelled back to them. "We're not doing any work right now Leon; we're on strike!" Leon shook his head and stormed out of the brush. Kym and Shelby then laughed. "That's awesome!" Shelby told her. "Yeah. We need to get Eve in on this, too", Kym said, and the two started laughing. "Shelby, Eve and I are clearly the odd ones out", Kym told the camera. "So why do any work? Shelby and I are officially on strike, and aren't picking up a stick until our demands are met!" Kym said with a laugh. Shelby agreed, and told the camera, "Kym is pissing people off; and it's not helping if we refuse to do work around camp. But at this point; I don't care. I'm too furious at the men and at Sherry to even give a damn. All I'm glad about is having nice warm blankets to sleep in."
Of course Steve did not have those luxuries when he came to Exile. He wasn't happy about being chosen, but not entirely surprised. "I wasn't surprised about being chosen to go, in fact I was almost expecting it", Steve said. "But I still worry about the kids back at camp. Not really that they're going to strategize against me, but more of a worry that they'll be able to survive alright out here." Steve's number one priority when coming out here was to find that immunity idol. He looked at the first clue, which had him digging a big hole for the second. He was able to find the second, which had him swimming in the river. But luck wasn't on his side, because when he came up from the water for a break after searching for a long time, he scraped his arm against a rock, and had a large gash. "I scraped myself pretty badly", Steve said, showing the camera a cut along his arm. "I needed to get immediate medical attention." It didn't take long for the medics to arrive and check out his hand. Luckily, it was bandaged up in time, and there was little chance of an infection. "I was lucky that it wasn't serious", Steve said. "But by the time the medics were done with me, it was close to dark. "I didn't have a lot of time to look, and I was pretty wiped anyway."
With Steve gone, Dennis took the lead of his tribe. However, things were pretty calm as everyone was doing what they needed to do, and the tribe turned out to be self-sufficient. When Dennis and Rachel went out to go fishing once again, Patty tagged along with them. "I felt like I needed to connect with them and talk strategy", Patty told the camera. "They need to trust me and like me more than they do Brent so I'm not their number one target." When they were out in the river, Patty did some fishing of her own. "So if we go to tribal, what's the voting basis? I mean, I think I did pretty well in the challenge today, and in the other ones, too." Dennis nodded. "Honestly Patty, it hasn't been talked about yet, it really depends on a lot of factors." Patty nodded. "I mean, I just feel like I think I made myself kind of untrustworthy when we first came out here and I…" Rachel cut her off, "You think?" she asked, half-seriously. Patty looked at Rachel and saw that the girl didn't trust her, and for good reason. "Listen, I just want to redeem myself from you guys." Dennis nodded. "Patty, if you want to know the truth, there are some trust issues with you. But there are a lot of issues with Brent, too. It really all depends on what happens in the next couple of days." Patty nodded. "Okay, I understand." She then grabbed a fishing pole for herself and joined them. "Patty came to Rachel and I today and tried to reconcile", Dennis explained to the camera. "Rachel, Steve, and I really don't know who is the best person to get rid of next. Brent is the main contributor of tension around camp, but can we really trust Patty? I don't know." Rachel had a more positive idea of who she thought was the person that should go. "I don't trust Patty. I think she's a tough player. Brent hasn't really shown any signs of playing as hard as Patty has, he seems to be have almost laid over and died while Patty has really fought. If it were up to me, Patty would be the next to go." Patty seemed to pick up on the indecision that the alliance is going through. "Honestly, I don't feel the most secure right now", Patty told the camera. "I feel that just being a friend to Dennis and Steve isn't going to be enough. I might have to stir the pot a bit to get the target off my back."
The Invindo tribe woke up the next day to yet another disaster: one of the rice bowls had been completely cleaned out. Leon and Sherry, the first two to get up, were the first two to note this. "Every night we have shifts of one person staying up to tend the fire and keep guard of the food. We try to keep the shifts to about an hour." Leon explains. "Last night, the animals got into the rice. And the fire is gone now this morning." When everyone woke up, Leon went down the line and checked with everyone. Eric and Jerry both denied seeing any animals, and were up the whole time, and so were Eve, Sherry, Mike, and Leon himself. That left Kym and Shelby. "We were sleeping the whole night", they told Leon. Leon was stunned. "Who woke you up to do your shift?" Leon asked. "Jerry woke me up", Shelby said, "but I just went back to sleep." Leon ran his hands through his hair. "You do realize this is strike two with you two girls, don't you?" Kym shrugged. "We're on strike, remember? You should have put that into account before you put us to work." Everyone was speechless, even ally Eve. "I couldn't believe that those two girls would be so stupid as to sabotage our food AGAIN", Eve said. "I'm really going to have to start distancing myself from them to save myself." Leon, however, was not surprised at their behavior. "Maybe they're right, maybe I should'a seen it coming", Leon said. "But right now, we got barely any rice, and we got a challenge coming up. I really don't want us to be behind in numbers, so those girls better get their act together for the challenge today."
The 16 remaining contestants arrived for the third immunity challenge. "Come on in guys!" Jeff announced, and then brought in Steve from Exile Island. When Steve had a chance to greet his tribe, Jeff explained the rules for the immunity challenge. "Today's challenge is a challenge of will. One of your tribe mates will be suspended by a rope over the river with five tribe members holding onto the rope, keeping the person suspended. Every 10 minutes, one person will let go of the rope, making it harder and harder for the remaining people to suspend their tribe member. Whichever tribe can keep their tribe member suspended the longest wins immunity. Sound good?" Both tribes nodded. Alright, pick your positions and we'll get started."
Invindo chose Shelby to suspend in the air while Echira chose Rachel. John, Steve, Dennis, Patty, and Brent were holding the rope for Echira while Leon, Mike, Jerry, Eric, and Kym held the rope for Invindo. Sitting out of the challenge was Rosie and Heather for Echira and Sherry and Eve for Invindo. "Survivors Ready?" Jeff announced, "Go!" Just then both tribes pulled on their ropes and suspended the girls up in the air. The first part of the challenge was not difficult, as both girls were quite light and five people were working together to suspend them. 10 minutes later, Brent and Kym let go of the rope. The other four had to put in a little more effort, but both tribes held their rope when the next ten minutes came by and Eric and Patty let go of the rope. The challenge got a little more difficult, with just three people holding the rope now. However, with the strongest people on each tribe, everyone held until the 30-minute mark, when Dennis and Jerry both let go, leaving two people on each tribe holding the rope. At this point Steve was beginning to get a little uncomfortable, and had to reposition himself. In doing this, he foolishly let go of the rope. When Steve tried to grab a hold of it once again, Jeff told him. "Nope, Steve, you're out of the challenge. John is now the only person holding for Echira, with two people holding for Invindo." John now had to put in twice as much work as Mike and Leon did for Invindo. But he held until the forty-minute mark, when Mike let go. It was now down to the big men, Leon and John, and John was already getting fatigued from having to hold the entire weight for nearly twice as long. John was showing signs of fatigue by 45 minutes, but realized he had to fight just as hard.Leon, however, was doing quite well, keeping his eyes closed, in almost a meditative state. The two men stayed strong until the hour mark, and John then had to reposition himself. He made sure that he held onto the rope, and was successful in getting in a better position, although making suspended Rachel a little bit nervous. Both women were showing signs of being uncomfortable, but both were ready to fight it out for as long as they could. It was an hour and a half when John was sweating profusely and ready to quit, but his will kept him in. On the other hand, Leon hadn't broken a sweat. John began to become increasingly nervous and intimidated by the strong Leon, and when he was looking over at the silent fisherman, he lost his concentration and let go. "Invindo! Wins immunity!" Invindo cheered as they all hugged Leon, and Jeff gave him the immunity idol. "Immunity is yours, Invindo." He then looked over at the defeated Echira. "Echira, I'll see you tonight at tribal council." After that, the two tribes headed back to their camps.
After losing the challenge, Echira had to face their second tribal council. Immediately after returning from camp Steve addressed his tribe. "I just want to say that I am incredibly sorry for losing the challenge for you
guys." Despite making a huge blunder, everyone patted him on the back and forgave him. "Steve screwed up at the challenge today, and he was one of
the reasons we lost", Rosie explained. "But he took it like a man and owned up
to his error. While John wasn't happy that Steve let go, he was more upset at
himself. "I know I could have beaten Leon. He just outplayed me today. He was totally focused on winning the challenge when I wasn't", John
explained. "Everyone's saying that the challenge was Steve's fault, and yeah, when he let go f the rope, I was pissed. But I'm just as much to
blame as he is." While some were upset about the challenge temporarily, tribal council looming put everyone's strategies into high gear. "Tonight
someone's going home", Patty explained. "And I just have to make sure
it's not me." Patty took Brent aside immediately after the challenge, and explained the situation to him. "Listen, you got to save yourself,
because its looking like you're next", she told him. "I think we may be able to flip John, Heather, and Rosie if we tried. Right now, I think you
have to talk to them though; I'm going to try to rat myself into Steve's alliance and see if I can distract them." Brent nodded. "Patty is
going into hardcore strategy mode", Brent explained to the camera. "We
basically need to work together to get Steve out of this game. Patty said that I should try and work John, Heather, and Rosie while she tookSteve and
Dennis aside and kept them busy for a while." And Patty did just that, as when
Dennis, Rachel, and Steve went away from camp to talk strategy, Patty went with them. Meanwhile, Brent started talking to John and Rosie, who were both tending
to the fire. "So where do you guys stand on who to vote for?" Brent asked.
John sighed. "I'm not real sure, Brent, probably either you or Steve."
Brent then went into his pitch. "If you think about it strategically, Steve is running the show right now. I think it would be in your best interest to
side with Patty and I tonight." John nodded, while Rosie spoke up. "The thing is, Brent, Steve has proven to be a strong leader. He's provided
for us, and besides his flub at this last challenge, he's done well in the challenges, and quite honestly, you haven't shown us your worth as
much." Brent responded, "Give me time, and I will, just trust me on this, it's the best thing for us and the team." John considered this,
and looked at Rosie. "I like Brent, he's a good kid", John said to the
camera. "If this was about who I'd rather see get the million dollars based on who I like, Brent would be staying tonight. But this is about the
overall well-being of the tribe, and while I don't particularly like Steve or the way he leads the tribe, we've been keeping up with Invindo in the
challenges, and we've been a solid team that works together well. So like it or not, he's keeping our tribe cohesive. Brent and Patty are not."
Meanwhile, Patty started to work Dennis, Rachel, and Steve. "Guys, I will totally
be on your side if you need me to. I mean, I don't have a lot of choices at this point", she told them. Rachel spoke up, "How can we trust you, Patty? What have you done to gain our trust in this game?" Patty
answered, "Listen, I'm not the one strategizing against you guys at this point, in fact I would bet money right now that Brent is out working John
right now. And you and I both know, Steve, that John is a loose cannon." Steve nodded, and the paranoia in him began to set in. "Patty, right now, I
think your safe, but let us do a little more thinking, alright?" he asked her. "Alright", Patty said, as she walked back to camp. Steve, Dennis,
and Rachel continued to talk. "I really don't trust her", Rachel said right off the bat. However, Steve's feelings against Brent weighed more to him. "I think Brent's the bad apple at this point.
We'll take Patty out later down the line", he told his allies. Rachel shook her head. "I just don't know." The decision was still in
question, but Patty's points seemed to have persuaded Steve. "I think strategically it is best to keep Patty for the time being. I think I can get her
to vote with the alliance, and if I can bring her in as a fourth person, we can take complete control of the tribe. Brent, though, I just can't trust
him", Steve told the camera. When Steve returned from camp, Rosie was still by the
fire while Brent was taking a nap in the shelter. Steve took this opportunity to get more information. "Rosie, was Brent working you?" he asked.
Rosie nodded. "Yeah, he was telling us that he has a lot more to offer to the tribe than you do." Steve shook his head and spit onto the ground.
"Damn it. Do you think he swayed anyone." Rosie answered, "Not me, I don't think. I don't know about John,
though." Steve nodded. "The vote still seems a bit up in the air", Steve told the camera. "But as long as I have Dennis and Rachel voting
with me, and if we can get Patty in, I have four votes." Indeed, Steve talked to Patty. "Can I count on your vote?" he asked her.
"Absolutely", she responded quickly. "Good, then it's Brent. Hopefully the rest of the tribe will see it that way." Steve looked a bit
as if he were on edge, but Patty gave him some advice. "If you want to ensure that Brent is going home tonight and not you, then say something at tribal
council directed at him. Make him the enemy." Steve nodded. "That makes
sense." The two nodded in unison once again. "I was successfully able to take the target off of my back", Patty happily told the camera. "I have both Steve's total trust and Brent's as well. And no matter who
goes tonight, I don't really care. As long as it isn't me. The big thing tonight is that I have to decide who I'm voting for. Just because I told
Steve I wasn't going to vote for him doesn't mean that I have to stick with my word", Patty said with a smirk.
Jeff greeted theEchira tribe as they walked into the third tribal council of the game, and then told them to take a seat. "So", Jeff started. "After a short winning streak you guys are back here at tribal council. I have to say, both you and Invindo seem to be evenly matched when it comes to challenges. Steve, how do you get the advantage over a tribe that seems to have the same amount of physical and mental strength that you guys do?" Steve nodded at Jeff and answered, "Well Jeff, we're at tribal council for a reason and its to vote out the weakest link. Hopefully we can weed out the weakest and become a stronger tribe." "So when you say the weakest", Jeff started, "What kind of person are you referring to? Someone who doesn't do well in challenges? Someone who's lazy around camp?" "Well Jeff", Steve answered, "I'm basing my vote on what I intended to base it on last time, which was who was the person who threatens the unity of our tribe." Brent rolls his eyes at that remark. "Brent, it looks like you're chomping at the bit over there, what's up?" Jeff asked. "I know that I'm the target for Steve tonight", Brent tells Jeff. "And it's really because he doesn't like anyone who challenges his leadership around camp." Steve chuckles at this remark. "Do you see what I mean, Jeff? This is what I'm talking about when I say someone is threatening our overall group unity, you should be at camp when he starts trying to talk crap about me and my leadership behind my back." Everyone was expecting another Brent-Steve confrontation, and shifted uncomfortably in their seats, except for Patty, who was hiding a smile. "Wait a minute, what are you talking about?!" Brent asked Steve. "When have I ever talked crap about you behind your back?" he repeated. "Just today, in fact, several people told me that you were telling people that now would be the right time to vote me off." Brent shook his head. "That's just heresy, Steve! Where's your proof?!" Steve calmly shifted to Rosie, sitting directly beside him. "Rosie, did Brent say that to you?" Rosie nodded and said to Jeff, "Yes, he did." Steve then turned behind him. "John?" John reluctantly nodded, not wanting to get in the middle of another heated argument. "Patty? Didn't you tell me to watch out for Brent?" At this Patty didn't know what to say, feeling that her lies have caught up to her. "Um...well…" However, Steve persisted. "Yes or no, Patty?" Patty then reluctantly answered. "Yes. I did say that." At this Brent looked at Patty with a look of betrayal in his eyes. Patty looked down, ignoring him. Jeff then turned to Rachel. "So Rachel, obviously a lot of tension between Brent and Steve. Do you take that into account when voting, for, as Steve said, to protect the unity of the tribe?" "Absolutely, but just because two people are fighting doesn't mean that they are the cause of the tension. Some people on this tribe I think are stirring the pot to take the spotlight off them", Rachel answered bravely, as Patty looked at her, becoming somewhat worried about her situation. "Sometimes you have to look at the big picture, Jeff, to see who's really causing the problem", Rachel finished. Jeff nodded, "Alright, a lot has been said tonight, but it is time to vote. Patty, you are first." Patty went up to vote first and put her ballot in the box. Heather followed her, and then Rachel, who decided to go against the grain and cast a vote against Patty. "I don't think you are going tonight, but this is more of a warning vote. I really don't trust you, and I hope the tribe eventually sees that you can't be trusted." John then followed Rachel to vote, then Dennis. Brent was the next to vote, whose vote was unsurprisingly for Steve. "I don't like you, I don't trust you. You've excluded me since day one. Hopefully you go tonight and not me." Rosie followed Brent to vote, and the final person to vote was Steve, who returned Brent's favor and voted for him. "You really have to go. I'm tired of being on the tribe with you. You're a hypocrite, and you have no idea how to play this game." Steve then furiously put the final ballot into the box, and went back to take his seat. "I'll go tally the votes", Jeff said as he turned towards the voting booth. Brent and Steve were obviously the most vulnerable, but which one would go? Will Patty turn her back on her friend Brent? Or is Steve's leadership beginning to get to everyone? And will Rachel's stray vote for Patty make an impact on the vote? Jeff then returned with the votes. "Once the votes are read, the decision is final, the person voted out will be asked to leave the tribal council area immediately. I'll read the votes. Jeff then read the first vote. "First vote: Brent." Brent nodded, knowing it was from Steve, and realizing he is bound to get several more votes. Jeff then read the second vote: "Steve". Steve rolled his eyes after getting this ballot. The third vote that came in caught everyone a little off-guard: "Patty." Patty was surprised to get a vote, and looked around to see who voted for her. "That's one vote Steve, one vote Brent, one vote Patty." Jeff then read the next vote: "Brent." And the next: "Brent. That's three votes Brent, one vote Steve, one vote Patty." And when the next vote was read, it was the final nail in Brent's coffin. "The third person voted out of Survivor: Gabon is Brent." Brent nodded, not completely surprised. "Brent, that's four votes, based on how the votes were distributed, that is enough, you need to bring me your torch."
