Okay, in the hopes of figuring out what makes a successful audition video, I'm to go over every audition video available...working backwards.
ANDREW:
Shows that he's very physical, doesn't just talk about it. Very easy talk (not stilted or over practiced). Sounds very driven. Hot cheesy wife by fireplace (what is up with that?!).
CHRISTA:
Cute, blond. Again very relaxed talk. Goofy, very goofy. But goes on about computer topics (no stereotypical girl topic). Uses hands a lot while talking. Terrible lighting and weird low camera angle (probably propped up on table or counter).
BURTON:
Fairly relaxed talk, but all I can see is that he's attractive. Uses close up.
DARRAH:
Mortician girl. Not relaxed in her talk (sounds over practiced). Southern. Uses the term "ass licker." But I think her's comes down to cute southern mortician.
JON:
Cocky, cocky, cocky. Jerk. It comes across great in his video. Terrible lighting (he's in shadow most of the video). Light should be behind camera, not you. But Jon's video shows his personality greatly. He also gesticulates with hands a lot.
LIL:
Woman scoutmaster. That's all her video is about. She also talks strong.
RUPERT:
Crazy outdoors man in the swamp. He shows more than he talks and it is clearly not "staged." Has genuine suspense. Great smile, loving with his kids. A natural video.
RYAN O.:
Bad sound and cut down a lot so hard to tell anything. Appears to be all about his body and intensity.
SANDRA:
Straight talker. Close up. Intense personality. She also comes across exactly as she is. Take no crap attitude. In your face but aware of it. Relaxed talker, if intense.
TIJUANA:
No sound again. Attractive and appears very relaxed.
MICHELLE:
There was a question about glasses somewhere. Well, she has them on. Tries to get her dog to talk. Close up on her and she has a good smile, but I don't get any sense of her from her video.
SHAWN:
Clearly a Mall Audition. He shows me nothing except that he's attractive and built.
TRISH:
One of my favorites. She's showing while talking (tying shoes to go running). Very relaxed talk. Very type A. Confident. Physical. Competitive. Close up. No doubt at all in her voice. Good ending too (her running away).
OSTEN:
All I can figure is his body, cocky and claims to be outspoken (but I don't get a true feel for that like I do from Sandra). That's it. But in retrospect is one of the funniest. "Dave Mathews"? "Mental stability"?!?!? Oh, poor poor Osten.
NICOLE:
This may also be a Mall Audition. Attractive and physical and a flirt. Says she'll give massages. Yawn.
RYAN S.:
A goofy video. Does the Memento backwards thing (could have been done better...but I'm just a fan of the movie and parody in general). He's dynamic, hyper, talks fast and easy.
