That's a funny story, Curve! Did you talk to the mom then? I love that TV Guide animated gif... look at that breeze blowing through his hair like he just don't care.

Thank you! He sounds and looks great. How does he keep getting better looking when he was already so cute to begin with?

Beautiful. He still sounds amazing. And was that Queen Latifah at the beginning or just a fat lady?

So Yeah, I was at Wal-Mart today!!! WOOT!
Sweet.Mary.Mother.of.God....... It was freaking amazing. You have no idea. I almost don't have the words right now. So, we got there early. Like 6:30am. But were still forced, like all the rest of the home office associates to sit up in the nose bleed (so you can imagine my still pics are shit. )
We thankfully didn't have to wait very long for it to start. The whole thing opened with this great Stomp/Cirque de Soliel type acrobatic performance. With guys/girls flying from wires through the air all around the arena and these two guys running on this giant rabbit wheel type deal. One of them almost fell off the damn thing and killed himself, they were so high up in the air!!! Once that was done, Queen Latifa came out. She was a great emcee throughout the entire show. She wasn't a whole lotta funny, but she did a good job. Then they did some business stuff, gave out some awards and then moved on. Joss Stone came out to sing. She was okay. I've never heard her before. She's kind of bluesy. She did a good job, but she really didn't seem like she was really interested in being there. Cause when she was done singing, she just trotted off stage. No goodbye, no thank you, nothing. After that they did some more business stuff and then Boomie came out! I've never really gotten into Boomie, but I totally get the Boomie love now. She was fabulous. She was having trouble with her monitors though and had to yank 'em outta her ears. But when she sang the Dreamgirls song, she was awesome. Period. no ifs ands or buts. She was gorgeous too. And TALL. After some more business stuff...Queen Latifah came back out and started her story about watching David v. David on AI. I swear to the dear lord, that is when I completely stopped breathing and my heart HAMMERED in my chest. And the absolute very second he came striding out of that door and started strumming TWIK is when I...wait for it....wait for it... yep, I teared up a bit. It was AWESOME (which is a complete and utter understatement). And the crowd went wild with screaming and photos and everyone of the 18,000ish people there were standing. I have absolutely no words to tell you how beautiful that song was live. His voice is just gorgeous. I mean, I'll never do it justice to tell you here how gorgeous it was, but it was beyond anyone I've ever heard live. Hearing him on TV and on the 'net is one thing. We all know he's awesome through those mediums. But to hear it live was beyond what I expected. It literally made my knees week. and I had to sit for a minute after he hit the pause in the song and said "how ya'll doing?" HAWT. Of course, he's just gorgeous to look at as well. Wearing his gray shirt, the pin-stripy jacket I've seen him wear before. He had on his word nerd dog tags and of course the bracelets and the BOOTS! Boots are awesome! Thank God too for the big monitors and screens they had up behind him because they got some really good close ups of him while he was signing and he was just SMOKIN HAWT today. *fans self* His hair was looking good as well. After he was done singing TWIK was when he was telling the Wal-Mart story about riding the bikes in the toy department. That was hilarious and got a great reaction out of the crowd. He definitely KNOWS how to work a crowd. Cause every Wal-Mart associate has stories like that.
When he was talking to us, it was almost like he was in awe of the crowd. Almost like he was way more in awe of us than we were of him. And he seemed very very humbled by where he was. I mean I think that is probably the biggest crowd he's played to so far, no? 18,000 people or so were there. While he was talking between songs, was when I took the opportunity to try and thoroughly embarrass myself and my hubby by shouting "WE LOVE YOU DAVID!" during one of his pauses talking. Except I missed the pause and he started talking again, so he didn't hear me. But my hubby did and gave me the stink eye. LMAO. He now thinks I'm a certifiable loon. But he still loves me!
Anyway,,, when he introduced TOML he still seemed very awed by the crowd. He was looking around trying to take it all in and said that yesterday, he had sound checked in the arena and it was empty. But that he liked it full better. That melted my heart a bit right there, cause it kind of seemed like he was trying to still take it all in and realize he'd FINALLY made it, kwim?? And then he said that bit about only learning TOML on the guitar YESTERDAY. I was floored. And when he said that he hoped that if he messed up we'd all still love him, everyone was screaming and applauding. (I'll insert here, that while this was all going on me and ALOT of other people were on their feet most of the time and screaming! LOL). Then he sang TOML. It was the most gorgeous version. He changed it up a bit and the glory note at the end was brilliant and beautiful. It sent chills up my spine. He had no mess-ups anywhere, no bad notes, no guitar mess ups or anything. It was just pure, gorgeous, perfect, and beautiful. I'm so truly glad that I got to see him sing those songs that way. But then, way too quickly it was over. I wanted him to stay FOREVER!! . He got a huge standing O when he left.
The crowd really really loved him and there were a lot of other fan girls there besides me! I really honestly don't remember a lot of what went on after that for awhile. I was just so wrapped up in trying to take the whole moment in and remember it. And also trying to breathe again because I swear I didn't breathe the whole time he was singing. I just sat in my seat zoned while Lee Scott (CEO of the company) spoke. And then Queen Latifa came back out and said that was it, but that she did have one more special guest...and then Tim McGraw came out and sang two more songs. He was really good too, but I don't like a lot of country and quite honestly I was spent. LOL. and that was the end of it all. It was a FABULOUS morning. Cook was beyond awesome, beyond my expectations in the hotness department and the beauty of his voice. I wanna see him again NOW. I have some pics, which like I said are shit. He looks like a damn bug but you can see him singing up close on the giant monitors behind him. Sorry some are blurry. It's difficult trying to dodge people walking in front of you! Queen Latifa...

What I want to know is what is Simon's (and Nigel's for that matter) definition of Charisma? That boy is oozing charisma in my book.

Sniffles...he really really seemed like he was just very in awe of where he was and how many people were going wild for him. You can't hear it on that you tube but the crowd was absolutely going bonkers for most of the time. Especially at the end when he was done. And you could really tell that he was trying to look around and just soak it in. I can't imagine what it would be like to go from playing bars to playing for 18,000 people! And he absolutely got as much applause as Tim McGraw did. And that is saying something for this crowd,,,which is a very midwest, conservative, bible-lovin', country crowd. Simon and Nigel are just retarded. I was 50 bajillion rows up and I could get the charisma from there. He knows how to work the crowd and just ooozes hawtness. You're welcome everyone! I'm glad to share. meme...
