Amanda Montana was not the best goat, but was definitely the best doe/fawn/whatever.

Rafe was a goat, too.
You better believe that the Guatemala jury hated him just as much as they hated Steph. Danni would have beaten him 6-1. |

A Steph v. Rafe F2 would have been a reincarnation of Brian Heidik v. Clay, probably with Steph prevailing 4-3. |

Judd.

Can someone explain to me the theory behind this "boot the goat" strategy that Cirie has been credited with starting?
Why was she so upset that Shane was going to bring Courtney to the end? Is this strategy only really viable for people that don't stand a chance at winning the final immunity challenge and want to avoid a Rob C/Kathy O/Terry Deitz-type 3rd place finish? |

CTTAndrewF wrote: It's not a viable strategy and is probably a main reason why Cirie would never win the game. She booted people loyal to her in Panama and had her ass
handed to her at the final 4, which wouldn't have happened without her "mastermind" 3-2-1 vote and so on. In Micronesia, she was making the moves
with Parvati, but they weren't really "booting goats" at all. This was a better strategy for Cirie, but there was that untimely final 2.

Note that Clay almost beat Brian. Despite his sluglike nature, he had a glimmer of humanity in him, unlike the sociopath, and a few of the jury picked that up.
Amanda was the perfect goat because she looks so much like someone who ought to win, but in reality had no hope at all. You can go into the jury looking like you are the goat yourself, and then win the thing. Lil and Denise also had that. Players assumed they would get a Pity vote. But there is no pity at Jury. |

Cirie could do the math and realized that in order to keep Courtney in the game, her allys would soon have to turn on her. She jettisoned the Goat leaving a place for herself in other peoples' strategies. Courtney would have breezed through the F4 TC with no tiebreak. |

Booting the goats is a perfect strategy if you're the person that everyone is saying is gonna win the game and they don't want to take you to the end.
Hence why Cirie had to take some action and kick Courtney's ass to the curb.

Courtney (China) could be considered a goat, however, her FTC was surprisingly good.

Courtney was definately a goat. She was there, but not there in a position to win.

The only problem with the "booting the goats" strategy is that if you're the person NO ONE wants to face in the F2, then it doesn't matter
how many fucking goats you boot if you can't win the final challenge.

In terms of how the goats actually performed, the best would probably be Richard Hatch, since nobody thought he was actually going to win the thing, and lo and
behold, he did.
As for best at being a goat, Katie didn't participate in half the challenges, did jack shit around camp, and was a bitch to everyone not named Tom and Ian. Of course, it didn't help that she was up against fucking Tom Westman, but she definitely didn't have any friends on that jury and I really don't think she did anything right other than a few parts of her FTC. She was right in that she had to rely on her social skills to get far in the game, it's just that her social skills are fucking horrible and only succeeded in wooing the two strong guys and netting her second place. |
