I'm thinking Mochi will win, and I'd be okay with that. Second place right up until the end, when she finally wins the whole thing.

The show is call "Step it Up and DANCE", not "Open Up your heart through dancing". But I do see your point. Everyone has opened up except
Cody. While I pretty much had no doubt he would make the final, I would say that Mochi has become the favorite. She possesses the technique and emotion.
Miquel is on his way to the nuthouse. Nick, I will say again, is the least talented left. He is strictly dance by numbers, stiff pirouettes and leg lifts,
definitely lacking the real dance talent that the other 3 have. But watching him emote and really feeling what he's doing and relate it is getting him
praise and makes him a more watchable dancer now, but some of those wide ass stupid smiles were a little too much sometimes. He's doing it ALL the time
now, and I'm over it.
But if Cody continues to dance his way and the "watchers" don't get an idea of what he's relating or if he's really enjoying what he's doing, then there is no great enjoyment in watching him perform. You'd just keep saying "beautiful dancing, beautiful lines, beautiful technique". And that's it, no feeling that the piece he's doing has any effect on him whatsoever. For that reason he will lose, but I love his dancing and would not feel that he didn't deserve it if he did win. |

Part of "stepping it up" (IMO) is making the audience believe that you are undergoing some type of emotional transaction. It would be like if girls
in music videos didnt emote the fact that they were slutty and horny. But oh wait there drop and pop it really was tecniquely perfect wasnt it?

Mochi gets on my nereves too. She's too damned little. My attention doesnt stay on her. You know she probably plays like a baby giselle or something in the lion king. I couldnt see her being given an adult role in any performance. But I do see how its good for dance to have a 30 year old win. I wouldnt be mad if she won. |

Let's face it--Nick, Mochi, and Cody are working dancers. (Miguel too, idk?) They all have skills, but just haven't broken past a certain yeoman level. Plus, if you really wanna dance for Art, you're gonna starve anyway unless you're a trust fund kid or a star. Real world? Mochi's too old. Like on ANTM where they'll look at some girl who's 24 and cluck "tch...24 is awfully old to start modeling" 
Cody v. Nancy v. Elizabeth: Snobby is the wrong word. It connotes that Cody is making social judgments and distinctions re: fellow dancers/audience. Maybe she believes he is. ::shrugs:: I think in trying to tell him that he reads "snobby"--words like aloof, detached, uncommitted, etc. would have been much more helpful to him. Also, wtf with his sudden sob story? His mom and girlfriend died back-to-back or summat? My guess is that homeboy believes he is keeping a professional demeanor while the truth is closer to that if he lets the veneer crack, there will be more @+%#% than Miguel and Ricky from PR put togther. Maybe he's afraid to let that happen...maybe that's the final story arc. Cody finally has an epiphany and wins. Kinda like this last episode where they were all suddenly crying for Nancy in rehearsal. (I also totes get it if Cody WAS being 'snobby' in not wanting to kvell on
command for her ass either.)

This is only my second episode but I was sensing a strong winner's edit for Mochi last episode. They kept stressing the fact that she "wants it"
the most out of everyone. The whole episode was basically narrated by her, and the eventual bootee of the episode, Janelle.
