I didn't watch Tina in the 80's but was she this campy? Because all I see is Rebecca Hotchkiss.

I remember very little from the 80's, but I'd have to agree, she played Rebecca for a good while though.... Although the writing is superb in
comparison to all the other soaps right now, I think that has a lot to do with why Tina is the way she is, and it's been 18 years... Give her some time to
get back into it, she'll be amazing!

She has always been a bit over the top
OLTL is doing pretty good at the Emmy's right now, they have won 2 awards Best writing and i didnt catch the first one anyone know? And Martie looked gorgeous |

The other award was for best directing team. With the way the show is going this year, I expect OLTL to win best show next year.

Sounds like OLTL really has momentum now, but the Emmys were a disappointment. How is it possible that OLTL can have the best writing and best directing, but not be the best show? Were the voters saying that the OLTL cast really, really sucks? As for Andrea Evans being over the top - she's an old school soap actress, and that's her shtick, which is why her Tina was so fun. When Karen Whitter took over the role; she tried to substitute zany and cute for camp, and it never quite worked. And the less said about the third Tina, the better. This is a character who's gone over a waterfall and lived to tell about it, and a woman who said the wrong man's name during her wedding vows. So yes, she's always been campy. Though the David Vickers running joke is a bit much; I hope there's a big payoff. And what a great throwback to the show's history. 15 years ago, Tina and David were together, despite the fact he was claiming to be the Lord heir and her half-brother. The same scene is recreated 15 years later with her red-haired niece and a man claiming to be the Buchanan heir, when the real heir is David. I guess that means 15 years from now, we find out Jared's mother was Dorian's other crazy sister, making him the Cramer heir. Only on the soaps, kids! |

The same soap rarely wins all three categories for directing, writing and best show.
I've heard OLTL screwed up in the tapes they submitted for the voting (the Prom Musical) and could have won if they sent in the stuff from Asa's funeral. |

They're all supposed to send in two episodes. OLTL sent the funeral (amazing) and the fucking musical. The problem was there were two headwriters over the
course of the year and the producer had to pick a show from each writer. He screwed up.
GH is notorious for creating big catastrophes that use the whole cast, that serve as their Emmy reels - they chose well with the hostage crisis and the Black and White ball. |

GH sealed the deal with the hostage crisis - the production values were first-rate, and it looked unlike anything daytime had ever done before. And let's
face it, Asa's funeral may have brought back a bunch of favorite faces, but for Emmy voters who didn't know who those characters were or that
they'd been off the canvas for years, it wouldn't have the same impact.
Dorian's takeover of Buchanan Enterprises ensures they have at least one episode for next year's reel. The 40th anniversary episodes airing next month will probably provide the other. |

I was okay with GH winning until Satan's mistress said "That was expected" or something like that. As long as GL didn't win I was happy.

Enough with the semi-talented singers already. Didn't Sarah have vocal cord damage? That would explain her "performance" at Nash's funeral.
Today's finale was such a total soap moment. You just know Jessica's going with the scorched earth policy tomorrow. I'm kinda looking forward to see if getting in touch with her anger means she'll be a little more interesting. If you know what I mean, wink wink, nudge nudge. |

I cant wait til Jess brings hell down on Natalie!!! I like Natalie but not lately and she certainly deserves what Jess is about to bring (donno what that is
but I hope it is good LOL)

This is not going to be pretty.
One big complaint about yesterday's show. The big reveal at the end, with somebody opening up Nash's coffin and it turning out to be Tess, would have been jaw-dropping. Except for the fact it had been spoiled in the "Next on OLTL" segment Thursday. And telegraphed throughout the entire episode Friday - the broken mirror bit was way too literal to be symbolic. I know they have to fill 43 minutes, but sometimes with storytelling, less is more. I hear that the "Next on" segments may be eliminated soon, because it's an unnecesary expense. That can only be good for daytime - for years now, perfectly good Friday cliffhangers have been ruined because they aren't the last thing the viewer sees before the credits roll. |

Okay, I haven't watched this show in more than a month because it was getting tedious & apparently I picked the month that everything blew up!
Nash is dead?!?! Tess is back? And original MARTY is back (isn't Marty dead?!?) WTF!?!?! I heard that Starr was pregnant, but does everyone know- I see that all the kids know & that Marcie knows- who else? I'm guessing Todd doesn't know or Starr would be locked in her room & Cole would be dead. I guess I shouldn't have tuned out, eh? Meanwhile, how did Nash die? And why aren't any of the Buchanans on the show- surely they are more interesting than watching Marcie whine at a lawyer. |

No sooner did Jarad promise to help out Nash with Buchanan bucks, Dorian exposed Jarad as a fraud and took over BE. Nash lashed out at Jarad for losing the BE
money and therefore the vineyard. During the scuffle, Nash fell through a skylight and died later from the injuries.
