I wish I could like him but there's something so fake about him. He's so theatrical and hammy. I can just see playing the Phatom for real on Broadway. It's still better for the show that he won.

I like him but that song that was voted as the winner just sucks. He must hate doing that song.

The only episode I have watched is the finale so I have no opinion on the others. But I thought the winner was supposed to be the best singer. Right? The
David that won sounds like the lead singer of any mediocre bar band I have ever heard, with the addition of blown vocal cords. The other David had a simply
pure, knock-out voice.
12 million votes? WTF? I predict great things for one David and eternal mediocrity for the other, "winner" or not. |

You'd be wrong.

I do agree Archie is the much better singer. That is why I rooted for him the whole time.
This just turned into a popularity contest, again. |

It did! And the popular contestant was both popular AND good. Not just popular. |

David Cook will be a great winner for the show.
Archuleta will do great in his own way, even if he doesn't sell 5 million albums. I couldn't be happier with this final 2. |

If it was a popularity contest and nothing more, Archie would've won. But Cook's talent actually gave him momentum while Archie was relying on the
tweentard swooning fanbase the entire time. <3
I actually think that's how most of the finales have been. If it was a sole popularity contest, Justin and Blake would've won too. |

Anyone got any predictions for Cookturd's future music career? Here's mine:
David Cook, immediately following his Idol victory, will be signed to Sony/BMG, with the label thinking he'll be the next Chris Daughtry. His management team, 19e, will hook him up with a band, ala Daughtry, and pimp/promote them til everyone becomes sick of them. David's Nickelback/Creed-wannabe debute album will be pretty successful - selling around 2x platinum, but his sales will be "disappointing" when compared to Daughtry. His three singles will find success on the radio and Billboard charts. For the whole year, every tween on this face of the earth will have wet fantasies about Cook. David will also take home a couple of awards - no Grammys, for he loses out when he disses AI (see Daughtry) - and the critics will be sucking his dick all over the place. David and his band will also tour at small venues, packing in rather nicely-sized crowds. But then, David will realize that his music sucks ass, and will try to take a completely different route with his sophomore album. His ego will grow this year and he'll feel as though he's too good for his label's direction, so he'll try to turn his album into some craptastic emo-wannabe shit or some Christian rock shit. Basically, his second album will not be as mainstream as his first. Everyone will hate it - from the critics to the fans. And his album will flop hard on the charts. His one single will get little to no radio plays, and he'll earn zero award nominations for it. When his next tour flops even worse than the album, his band will get fed up with his attitude and quit the group. David's management and label - desperate to put him in a good light - will try to play it off as David has always wanted to go solo. And then what do you know? The following year, David will release a solo effort. But the album will be total crap and by then, nobody will care about him anyway. David's solo album fails and he gets dropped from his label after several attempts to find him a new band. David will finally fall off the face of the earth after trying to earn a few extra fifteen minutes by whoring himself out to the media. For
the next few years he'll be hooking up with all the trashy tabloid Hollywood chics and partying everywhere - geting drunk and stoned. Years later, a former
fan will spot a thirtysomething-year-old drunk and overweight Cook trying to relive his glory days by performing at a local karoake bar in his hometown of
Kansas City. The girl will sell the video she took to TMZ. TMZ will air the video of him on their show and post it on their website. They'll mock him
mercefully and the media will turn him into the laughing stock of the world.

The funniest part of that is that you don't even believe that yourself. But it's cute that you are so into Cook you spent time thinking and typing
all that out. I knew you were a Cooktard. :)

I'm not going to make any sales predictions, but I think he will be a lot closer to Daughtry on the sales spectrum than to Bo Bice.
The problem is, he will inevitably be compared to Daughtry, so if his debut album sells less than 4 million copies it will be looked at as a disappointment by some people. Especially since Cook is an AI winner and Daughtry isn't. Those are really high expectations. Unrealistically high. But it comes with the territory. The most important thing is for David Cook to put out a good album. If he does that, the sales will come. |

Each of his three performances in the finale were superior to Cook's and I think he's been better and more consistent throughout the season. Cook just had a huge burst of popularity in the past few weeks (which I still don't understand) which carried him to a win, unfortunately. |
