Ummmm wow someones a little uset for no reason.I was talking about the people more than the landscape, I apologize that I upset you by calling it similar to
islands in the same region. But really dude you just got pissed about meadows. And saying that your entire country is farms is like saying all of America is
desert, just because Arizona is. Have you been to every part of New Zealand?

Don't the sheep live in the meadows? I mean, like, when they're not surfing.

kodiak23 wrote: I wasn't upset I was just asking because obviously someone was misinformed. And I also never said the whole place is like farms, I was stating that if that's what they were talking about then they are called farms and that they are man made. I suggest you re read my posts. And no I haven't been to every single place in New Zealand, but i've been to the majority of places. |

I thought that it was common knowledge that fall/spring seasons tended to be in near locations...Yeah this was discussed here awhile ago. Something about how after so many seasons, "Survivor" has amassed a pretty huge collection of props and whatnot that have to be shipped from location to location, so it's just easier (and cheaper) to have a season take place in a location that is somewhat close to the previous one, or at least a location that it's not too difficult to travel/ship cargo to. If you go to the Survivor Maps site and look at the image of the globe that marks each seasons location, you can see that the pattern begins pretty much after All-Stars. Heck, I think the biggest jump between locations since ASS is the current one from Micronesia to Gabon. I doubt that they'd do another African location right after Gabon (although I suppose you never know - I wouldn't have guessed they'd do Panama three times either), so my guess for the location of Survivor18 would be somewhere in South America (a return to the Amazon?) or, God forbid, a fourth stop in Panama. Wasn't Survivor7 originally thought to be taking place in some nature preserve in Mexico? Perhaps they'll go there? I just remembered the excuse that Probst gave for Survivor12 returning to Panama - because Guatemala had been such a harsh location for all involved including the production team, that after that they wanted to return someplace "easier" that they were familiar with. I can totally see them whipping out that excuse again after filming in Gabon is completed. But yeah anyways, keeping this in mind it's fairly easy to speculate at least what region of the world the next season will probably take place in. |

I doubt they'd go to South America or Panama. It's too far away. Plus, if I remember correctly, the guy that SEG had worked with for the Panamanian
seasons (and who owned the resort that the production used) died in a plane crash (I think there was suspicion of druglords being involved), so it wouldn't
be as easy for them to film there anymore.

New Zealand will be way too cold in October to shoot Survivor. Trust me, I live here, and I live in the warm part. There will be no bikini clad women in
October. I have swum in the sea at this time before and it was COLD as the sea won't have time to heat up after winter. Plus in the spring it rains lots.
I think any Survivor NZ could only be in the summer. Plus there would be serious issues trying to find a remote spot. The scandal of the English Castaway was that it was on Great Barrier Island, a populated island with stores etc on it! There may be unpopulated islands but there are serious ecological restrictions on them to protect endangered birds. In my opinion here are some potential locations for a potential survivor NZ (but only in summer). Taranaki- area The Last Samurai was shot in- lots of surf in this area, temperate climate, big volcano. Bay of Islands- much warmer, scenic, nice sea and site of large native tree forest. Uruwera mountains- central north island- dense forest, site of early 20thC century rebel Maori government and Maori "jesus". Very isolated |

I would love to see the Russian Taiga it would be different and a refreshing new kind of scenery closest to what it's like where I live, but still far away
enough to be foreign and isolated. I doubt they will ever do it though...

I could see them doing some group of islands in the Indian Ocean or finally Madagascar for S18

I'm still waiting for a European version of the show. The Meditterean (I just butchered that spelling. :P) has plenty of islands they could use, or for once could they please do a snowy version maybe in Norway, Finland, or Iceland? People don't just get stranded in tropical paradises, you know. That, or Patagonia in Argentina or Botswana. |

France is overpopulated and is no place to stay in a marooned place. The winter is lightly mild and cold by night.

After Gabon, a Mid of Soth Atlantic Island would make sense.
Survivor: St. Helena (where Napolean was exiled following his defeat at Waterloo) Survivor: Cape Verde Survivor: Falkland Islands (but too cold for the Oct-Dec spring shooting season). |
