As always, my East Coast friends, thanks for letting this West Coaster know the great result ahead of schedule. DC so deserved this. Here's hoping the
star maker machinery does not spit him up and chew him out. Lesson #1: make sure to start recording your debut album BEFORE you announce its release date.
(Believe it or not, Taylor's album's release date was announced before he went into the studio. How can good music be produced like that?)
And a belated congratulations to the runner up. My feelings on Archuleta went from mild support, to an understanding of his creepy nature, to pity for the role in which he was put. To his credit, last night, he gave as fine a performance as he could give, given his limitations as an artist to date. Hopefully he, too, can thrive as he grows up. |
