Love the theory that the fans of other contestants thrown under the bus are voting in force for Cookie. Carly, Syesha and Jason each got thrown under the
bus, and I just bet that their fans saw what happened to David Cook last night and said "not again. The judges will not get away with it again" and
voted until their fingers bled just to make a point. Even if they couldn't care less about Cookie.
BTW - the judges last night reminded me of my favorite Richard Pryor lines - "who are you going to believe - me, or your own lying eyes?" :))

Cookie's going to get the lovely 19E contract either way. If he doesn't win, he could release "Always Be My Baby" or something else as his
first single instead of the shitty coronation song.
On the other hand, Farmbot's shitty coronation single didn't hurt her career any. In fact, it sort of disappeared when Some Farts released.... I'll more than likely be on tape delay again tonight because Thing 1 would be pissed if I skipped his first game to watch TV. I should make it home in time to see the last half live. |

I had emails this morning from several friends who are convinced Archuleta is the winner. They don't read message boards, etc. However, all of them said
that they were really disappointed with the throwing under the bus thing and voted a lot. These people never vote. They were so bugged by it, they voted for
the first time. So, I dunno...I have a feeling it could be the reverse psychology thing. They may not have voted or may have voted less if it hadn't gone
down the way it did.

SHC, I can see why pretty boy would pass on No Turning Back. I honestly don't recall hearing Dream Big when I listened to them, but I certainly see why
Cook heard something in it and chose it. I hate to admit it, but I loved it. I expected to be at best indifferent to it, despite Cook performing it. But I
remember the chorus still today having heard it once.
If that's the B side of the winner's single, it will be the A side to me. But I'm surprised No Turning Back wasn't an overall winner, it is actually good. I'll not be surprised if the songwriters of America stone to death whoever wrote "Thank You, Whatever Comes". Blech. Michael |

The chorus of "Dream Big" is still stuck in my head.

TMZ said a source close to the show said 100 Million votes, but that's just tmz rumor. That part about still counting votes, sounds suspicious to
me. They know by now who it is.

I really want to have hope, but I think there are too many indicators stacked against Cook. The ONLY thing Cooktards have are Dial Idol and Zabasearch, for
whatever they're worth--and the knowledge that many people who weren't Cooktards were angry enough at the judges to vote, and often, for Cook. But
it's the casual viewer that concerns me. My traitorous mother? SWOONING today over "that young boy and his voice." My 80 year old Aunt voted 4
times for DA because she was so moved, despite being told she was to do no such thing.

All the better then to claim "CLOSEST FINAL EVER!" and then have Cook win.
OH THE UPSET! anyway...either way. I'm really just looking forward to the horror of all the singing now... |

I had a little faith until I heard the 100 million number. I think it will be close but with a number like that DialIdol is probably usless. There must have
been an insane amount of texts.

Season 7 PREDICTED WINNER - DAVID COOK - ANALYSIS BELOW Welcome to the Bettorsworld.com American Idol Predictions page for season 7 of American Idol. We have once again made it to the finale with several correct predictions along the way. For the big final show, we step up our prediction process. We include more polls and resources than usual, thus making our selections all the more accurate. This year should be more exciting than recent years because the vote will be so close. David Archuleta and David Cook truly are the top two contestants. Each year that betting on American Idol has been offered by the sportsbooks we have shown a profit. One of our most profitable wagers ever was the year Taylor Hicks won. Truthfully, in a sportsbetting career of 25+ years, the Taylor Hicks wager was one of the easiest wagers we have ever made. We hope the odds fir this years final two present us with a similar opportunity. We'll post our prediction and analysis the day after the performances this week by 5 pm est. We use a variety of methods and tools to come up with our predictions, such as Dial Idol, as well as some lesser known but equally as accurate polling. We also rely heavily on our own opinions as well as those of family and friends of all ages. Hey, it's worked very well so far! As mentioned above, for the finale, we will work extra hard in coming up with our winning opinions. When handicapping American Idol you need to take into account more than just how well the contestants perform on any given night. There are many outside factors that come into play. For example, you need to handicap the voting public as well as the contestants. It's safe to say not too many 40+ year old viewers are picking up the phone and voting for their favorites. At the same time, it is safe to say that just about every 13 and 14 year old girl in America is voting like crazy. You also need to take into account the geographical implications. Historically, the South is a hot bed for American Idol voting and they support contestants from their neck of the woods. May 21, 2008 Drum roll please........our official prediction on the winner of American Idol season 7, 2008 is................David Cook. As hard as the judges tried to narrow the gap, it looks as though all they were able to do was make the vote closer. Remember, going in to last nights performances, Cook had a lead. The judges tried their hardest to sway the vote, but it looks as though Cook pulled it out. All of the polls with one exception, agree with us. The only poll that said otherwise, was a poll put out by the Ellen Degeneres show. In that poll, 6000 people voted and Archuleta had a 500 vote lead. But the heavyweight polls, including Dial Idol all point towards David Cook. Likewise, tons of the smaller polls we have monitored for the finale, including the AOL users poll, all have David Cook winning. Furthermore, the betting odds currently have Cook as a better than -230 favorite to win and it's climbing. You can wager right now on this at bookmaker.com as well as sportsbook.com Our research is a sampling of the voting public. Nothing scientific. Certainly no guarantees. However, we haven't missed one yet. All
indicators point towards David Cook in what they will probably call the closing voting results for a final in the history of the show.

How can they still be counting votes? Were people able to vote absentee? Did they hire the city government of Gary, Indiana to count the votes?

My 80 year old Aunt voted 4 times for DA because she was so moved, despite being told she was to do no such thing. I hope you are considering assisted living and taking Matlock away at the very least. Holy hell, blast from the past. Haven't seen carboysdesire since S3 when I was a mere lurker smearing shit on the walls of my monitor. Hope that Bettors World prediction is right! |

Hi Velveeta!
I've been avoiding this forum as best I can. None of the idols impressed me much this year, except for Carly maybe. I'm usually in the BB forum or at Other Shows That Sucks. For the record...I do not work at bettorsworld.com I merely found that prediction whilst skumming the internet looking for predictions. I loathe Archie and I'm hoping for a Cook upset. I myself texted 100 votes for Cook. After that I dialed for only a few minutes and was able to get in only 1 additional vote that way. I don't really care for Cook, but I'd love for him to defeat Archie. |
