I still don't buy the whole, "They don't care and whatever the fans decide they will go with." If that was the truth, then why not do what Aussie Idol does and not have the judges chyme in and just let the viewers decide. The reason they don't is because they need the judges there to manipulate the outcome.

Heck, just watching it from home, I was left with the same feeling But what the media (and myself too, at first) is forgetting is while the audiance was sitting there waiting to ge out of the show, and traveling home, etc - thinking Porkchop had this thing sewn up - the Cooktards were getting a head start on their voting and weren't about to let this one go down w/o a fight And I think you will be disappointed - ie witnessing any Cooktard meltdowns. Even if Cookie does end up losing, he is still the winner in all of his fans' eyes. He may not have the official title, but he IS OUR American Idol :-)

I almost wish he had sucked it up last night and the judges cut him down. Because that would have been easier to swallow. But if Archie loses, despite all the praise he got, it will be a big let down. Oh well. I am really happy for him either way. Both contestants will have a great future.

America, this is your voting public. Well, I haven't gotten wind of her review for this week, BUT my 81 year old Grandmother as of before the finale, was rooting for Cook.. She said that she thought that David A had a lovely voice but no experience or versatility. My mom (58) and or family friend in 70's, all think Cook should win too...

(Assuming our hunches and the predictions are correct) I would feel the same way if it were reversed. While I'm no Archie fan, the way (I believe) the AI machine orchestrated this "shocker" sets the fetus up for a nasty fall. That and his dad to deal with, ugh. I can't stand Archie's singing but, assuming he loses, somewhere in my overwhelming elation about Cook, I will feel bad for the kid. I agree both will have great futures.

Too much of an emotional roller-coaster. And unless they make some serious format changes, I probably won't tune in anyway. The only reason I'm watching this season is because of the two Davids. I will buy both of their albums, and any albums they put out in the future. But honestly I'm pretty much over AI at this point. Unless they really do get "the best top 24 ever" next season, I'll probably skip it.

While I want Cook to win, it doesn't really matter because he's going to do some great music. In fact, if he doesn't win, he won't have to sell out to the Idol machine. I think David A will be very unsuccessful unless he's marketed correctly - he's perfect for High School Musical or something like that, but he'll make boring MTV videos. I tried voting for 3 hours last night (Pittsburgh) and never once got through for David Cook. I was so excited the first time it rang through only to hear that "all circuits are busy now..."

I called some of my friends and they couldn't get through either, must have been a local thing I guess.
