Q: Give us some background on the design for the upcoming Survivor: Gabon logo. A: This is perhaps the design nearest and dearest to my heart. As you may know, my son Spencer had leukemia and passed away in 2006 just after his sixth birthday. He was a huge Survivor fan and also loved drawing, particularly animals. One of the last things I promised him was that I'd use some of his drawings in a Survivor logo someday. When I found out we were doing a season in west Africa, I thought it was a perfect opportunity to fulfill my promise. The gorilla you see in the logo is Spencer's. I thought it was a perfect way to honor his memory and I hope the fans enjoy it.
