I am so sad and surprised to see Ignatius and Isabella go.

wakwakwak wrote: Yeah, pretty much...given that there's only one Aussie team left in the race... (but seriously L5 has been kicking ass for 5 straight legs now with the most perfect finishes ever-- 4 second place finishes and 1 first place finish, I don't know what to say) |

Wan: Excuse us, but we came first three times out of the first five legs. And we'd have easily come first in Trinidad & Tobago if it weren't for
someone not realising it was Daylight Savings...
Chung: ...bitch. |

And I'm here in spirit... or sleep, whichever doesn't require me to be awake while the race is going on.

Wan & Chung's average placements after five legs = 2.2
Tyra & Janice's average placements after five legs = 1.8 Just saying. |

I don't know, kat. Sometimes I wonder what could have been if you never got U-Turned, I got eliminated at 8th place and the next leg wasn't double
elimination...would it have yielded different outcome? Would Wan & Chung eventually win the race?

Had the prices in Greece been tiered to suit the teams stuck using the Euro, I would have got to the U-Turn ahead of Ronnie & Ben and U-Turned them, and
ergo Wan & Chung would have likely finished first that leg (I was two updates ahead of R&B, if I remember, when it got to the point that I ran out of
money and needed to take the bus, while they blitzed ahead on a taxi). The question would be where did it go from there - the F6 would probably have been Wan
& Chung, Jin-Woo & Sang-Mi, Russell & Valencia, San & Rose, Dennis & Stina and either Ronnie & Ben/Lachlan & Gabriel.
F6, Dennis & Stina go out. F5 would be controversial, because if Ronnie & Ben survived the U-Turn in Greece, then they would go out here. Otherwise, if Lach & Gabe stayed then it's highly possible that they go out this leg. F4 is obvious, and the F3 would probably have either been Wan & Chung / San & Rose / Russell & Valencia, or stayed as Lach & Gabe / San & Rose / Russell & Valencia. ETA: On the other hand, I was going to U-Turn Ronnie & Ben the "leg of controversy" anyway, and that's still been my argument to this day - would reggie have actually tried to write a proper argument if he had been U-Turned, or would he have done it the way I did (which, I still claim to this day, was a completely legal way of doing it. I'm not proud of it, but it never said it had to be convincing). Anyway, that's in the past and this is a totally different race...

(FYI, there's no order to these, I just wrote them as thoughts came to me pretty much)
Tyra & Janice - Better this leg, mainly because they did seem to be slightly having a go at each other and there were cracks appearing. They did seem to trail off a bit at the end, I thought, but it'll be interesting to see who get's tired of who first - Tyra of the blowjobs, or Janice for the fame-hogging. Gil & Katherine - So, so, so close to the title quote. Seriously, Gil being portrayed as a racist despite doing nothing in particular to deserve it, while Kath's still being a bitch - and Artemis showing up was pretty much the icing on the cake. Very good leg from the pair. Melanie & Cynthia - Some funny quotes from this team, including the title quote. Nice to see the Cynthia is getting some development, but once again they seemed to be a team that were helped along at the end by Marvin & Harry. Hopefully we get more stuff on Melanie to balance things out. Ax & Tobias - I'm getting more and more confused as every leg goes by. I'm not sure what this Temrash thing is all about, but that might be to do with the fact I never read Animorphs. They were more noticeable, however, which is a good thing. JP & Steve - They got out in the lead, then seemed to fall back once again and become invisible. I was surprised there was no stereotypical joke about politicians playing golf or whatever, but they were alright this leg, I suppose. Coral & Katie - ...right, I wasn't all too sure about the whole Anderson Cooper thing, I must admit. Katie having known Carmen Sandiego was a fun little twist, but they weren't particularly impactful this leg. Still, it was nice to see them doing something else for once. Celeste & Collete - They kind of blended in to the same person again, which was a bit unfortunate. Funnier towards the end of the leg, and the bit at the start where there was the moral dilemna of "to blow or not to blow" was good too. Marvin & Harry - Again, a very good leg for them. Marvin is becoming something more than I expected him to be, and Harry's revelation was handled very well (unless there's some Wan-esque swerve in it all). I'd say they were once again perhaps the "team of the leg" in terms of standing out and entertainment... Also, I was surprised as hell that nobody actually went for Elephant - especially given the fact that it was obvious that updates would slow down a little as I wrote the check-in skits, and Melanie & Cynthia were already going to be quite a bit behind thanks to the Speed Bump. Albeit I can't talk after Crow's race, I must admit. |

Yay! I got a title quote! And I think I got it last time in AT3 on leg 5 as well. (Sang-Mi's "I want to deal with some maggot right now" or
something)
But I don't think it's that funny though. Anyway, it gives me the money that I absolutely will need, so no complaints! |

Marvin: Hey, Harry, have you seen the producer review? It's awesome.
Harry: Yeah, awesome two legs in a row. Marvin: Too bad we can't seem to get a damned episode quote! Harry: Wan & Chung must really hate us at heart. Marvin: They're probably threatened by your revelation and the non-drama it caused. Harry: True. Anyhow, have you checked the mail yet? I'm hoping that new personality I ordered arrives before the next leg. Marvin: Hold on just a minute. *leaves to check mail* Funkey: I was as confused as Kat by the Anderson Cooper references by Nimber. I just didn't understand why he kept poking his head in, or how that was relevant to anything. No offense, Nimber. Maybe the next leg will explain it. |

I didn't understand because I have no freaking idea who Anderson Cooper is. Except that he hosted The Mole or sumfing.

A Cliffs Notes guide to Ax/Tobias/Temrash currently:
Temrash is a Yeerk, a body-controlling parasite that needs its energy source every three days or it dies. Ax and Actual Tobias killed Yeerks like, a lot. Temrash took control of Tobias prior to the race, but as the race continued he (Temrash) became starved, so to speak, explaining how Tobias turned batshit insane in Algeria. At present they're trying to work together in spite of hating each other because of the whole medina incident. A Cliffs' Notes guide to the Cliffs' Notes: Temrash is controlling Tobias. Temrash and Ax are like the Odd Couple, if they were both aliens. Hijinks should hopefully ensue. For more information on Animorphs, there's a fairly intensive wiki site about them here. Apologies for the confusion. |

Kat, did you see my earlier question? Any chance of moving the leg to a new day?

It looks like this is probably the end for Marvin & Harry. My internet keeps going in and out like it did yesterday. Fucking Comcast. If not for
Dan's bad luck, Comcast's lack of performance during that RB would have done Marvin & Harry in and if it keeps up, they're toast today. Kat,
if for some reason they don't show, or they disappear midrace, my apologies.

(I'm doing this a little early -- or trying to -- since my internet is being all craptastic.)
Marvin: *Enters room carrying box* Hey look, Harry! You got a package! Harry: OMG! I wonder if it's that new personality I ordered. Marvin: Maybe it's some gay-gear. Harry: Marvin: Sheesh, I'm just kidding. Open it. Harry: *Opens package* Wow,
just wow. It looks like my new personality arrived.
Marvin: What is that? A tiara? I'm going to have to start calling you princess Harry. Harry: Hold on a sec while I read the instructions.
Congratulations on your new personality! Enclosed is one tiara, complete with rhinestones and pink fur. New personality applies only to wearer of tiara and takes effect immediately upon wearing. To install, place tiara squarely on head. Tiara may be worn in connection with other head-ware. WARNING: Once installed, tiara may not be removed for 24 hours. Keep out of reach of children.
Harry: Here goes nothing. *puts tiara on* Marvin: I must say, it is quite fetching. You're still more handsome than BB9's Josh. Harry: Awesome. Let's go
win this fucking race!!1!

*Opening Confessional*
Gil: *scratches at my arm* Dammit, I think that bite is infected. Katherine: *not paying attention* I miss Lindsey. Gil: *winces* Dammit, what the hell did I do to spur on the wrath of that cat bitch? Katherine: *shrugs* Maybe it's because you're just a bad person. Gil: *looks at Katherine with an -_- face* I doubt that. Katherine: Well how should I know? Maybe you smell like something she wanted to bang. Gil: But I haven't been doused in cheetah pheremones...recently. Katherine: But you have in the past? Gil: I'd rather not talk about my college days. Katherine: Riiiiiiight. Gil: *scratches again* Dammit, this wound feels REALLY weird. Katherine: Well get over it, Grissom. The race is about to start. |
