However, I think... he's resigned to his fate. Last week it looked like he really cared what they did to him, but there was something different about his attitude tonight. He didn't care. He amused himself and tried to entertain the audience, and when they ripped into him he just didn't give a shit anymore. I think the debacle last week kind of was the last straw. I imagine he knows he's going, he's made his peace with it, and he may not even want to be in this highly artificial, manipulative situation anymore. I don't know if we will ever see him again, though. He may have destroyed his career on the way out. I enjoyed I Shot the Sheriff, but I am so much in the minority I can't help wondering if I am just so tired of him doing insipid, timid versions of Memory that this attempt to be animated seemed like an improvement. And it may be that Hungry Like the Wolf sucked so much, and Syesha was so sickening, and Archie is just so... plastic... that I embraced Jason just for not being them. This season began well, but it's the ugliest ending I've ever seen. Nothing has gone well since they lost Carly. |

I enjoyed both of Jason's performances tonight
but I understand if the judges disliked the vocals for "I Shot the Sheriff" and I'm okay with Jason leaving this week The Jason fans should vote for him tho because there is always a possibility that Dial Idol is wrong

I posted something in the hate thread which I think actually belongs here. Having watched "School of Rock" and having learned many a thing about the
true spirit of rock and roll ( :P ), I thought Jason was the best performer of the show because he was the only one who stuck it to the man!
Yeah! Everyone else tried to please the audience and judges. FAIL. Jason did his own thing, messed up without pulling a Brooke, and basically showed a lack of
respect to a show that doesn't deserve any - and all without the desperate attention-whoring of Sanjaya. I loved him for it, actually. I hope he stays
another week. And when he's in his zone (fuck the judges and show), he's actually one of my favorite performers.

I'm thinking after the 3 stooges criticized the poor guy's ISTS (which was DAMN GOOD!), that he just gave up on the second one as if to say to himself, no matter what I do, they will hate me and love that little repulsive midget. |

Newbie popping in. My generation had Arlo Guthrie, and with someone good directing Jason, he certainly can be the next Arlo Guthrie of this generation.
My only hope is voters remember all the songs Jason has sung instead of the one's last night. Jason does have a unique voice, and while the rest are good, they're more "generic" in their sound. |

Just horrid. he's too hit and miss and probably got chosen for his distinct look more than anything. I've enjoyed him a couple times this season

After rewatching Jason's performances last night, I loved ISTS, everything about it! He was having fun and I think he purposely chose that knowing the
judges would get upset with him for choosing it.
I watched and rewound this part 10 times and I'm convinced he said "Don't vote". It sounded like it when I cranked the volume and if you look at his lips it doesn't look the same for both words like it would if he said "Vote, vote". I think he's ready to go for whatever reason (the judges criticism and the near certainty of a double David final two or something else) so I'm glad I didn't vote. I also think there's a good chance he did flub the words on Tambourine Man to give people a reason not to vote for him. But Simon may have screwed that up by telling Jason to pack his bags. I enjoyed his stuff last night actually, and I hated him in the beginning of the season. He's grown on me but out of the 4, he is the least I want to win. Nevertheless I enjoyed his stuff overall last night, the assragging he got was a little much, they've praised him/sucked his cock for less before. I love his hair pulled pack in a ponytail, hot. |
