And boo to more blondes - brunettes and redheads can be eye-candy too.
I wonder which ones are Reese Witherspoon's friends?

From Reality Fan Forum posted by Gingerman28 and apskip from speculation thread:
I think the only thing we could feasibly rule out is yet another trip to southern Africa via Johannesburg. I think Western Africa might be a good choice though I'm not sure if the trip to Burkina Faso last time has put a damper on that. In particular, Ghana and Mauritania or Morocco (as well as the Cape Verdes). I think the only thing we could feasibly rule out is yet another trip to southern Africa via Johannesburg. - I agree. |

Because they were in shape and smart. really, really luckyNot that they weren't good racers, but they would have been booted Leg 4 if Tom/Terry got a proper penalty in the previous leg to get them booted (or better yet, they were never cast). Not that they were bad racers, but they made just as many big mistakes as several booted all-female teams - they were just against shittier teams. |

I checked out some flights for Tuesday travel. Most European capitals have non-stop service from LAX, or the ORD connecting flight would leave LAX before noon. But Copenhagen works... These first routings are rarely about efficiency. They shuttle them to whatever inconvenient connections make for a carefully orchestrated arrival. iirc, the first leg routings from season 7 had them starting in LA but shuttling around the country to connect to Lima even though flights are available direct to Lima |

At TwoP, Shacklebolt has found a post at a Brazilian message board (in Portuguese) that cites a local newspaper which has TAR fiming in Salvador (Brazil's
3rd largest city) on Apr. 24 and 25. One task is to rappel down Elevador Lacerda. Salvador ia a way's north of Sao Palao, so this should be the 2nd leg
of the race. Hopefully, it will be like TAR 9 where the first 2 legs were in Brazil and then they left South America.

can they freakin go to Indonesia already? Bertram has said that he is concerned with security issues in Indonesia, so probably not. |

Amazing Race Asia went to Indonesia on their first season, and to my recollection, noone got killed. And they had an International Global Warming Summit there
just last year where top honchos from all around the world came to.. so, the paranoia is really out of place if you ask me.

I'll bet Salvador is still the first leg. If they left on 4/22 they wouldn't arrive in Brazil until 4/23. Every first leg has included some sort of
overnight/ staggered start component to it, except for season 9. They probably do something in Sao Paulo and receive their tickets to Salvador for the next day
or something. That would put them in Salvador on 4/24 to finish leg 1 and off on leg 2 on 4/25.
Also, there have been very few destination repeats over 12 seasons and those that have repeated are many seasons apart (Amsterdam, Mumbai, Hong Kong). It'd be surprising for them to do a leg 1 in Sao Paulo just four seasons after another leg 1 in Sao Paulo. |

They generally spend the night mid-way through the first leg.

meatball77 wrote: Not in most of the recent seasons. I can't recall them spending the night anywhere in seasons 9, 10 or 11. Even so, It would be a waste to have the teams fly to Sao Paolo first for a short stay and then fly to Salvador rather than fly directly from LAX to Salvador (which is a fairly large city so a direct flight from LAX to Salvador should be available). Visiting both Sao Paolo and Salvador in the first episode could be likely if the season has an extended premiere like TAR 6 or TAR 7. With a 1 hour premiere it's unlikely. TAR 9 had a 90 minute premiere and still the teams raced near Sao Paolo for the entire leg.

I can't recall them spending the night anywhere in seasons 9, 10 or 11Premieres: TAR5 - Stayed overnight and left based on timings they got from trees TAR6 - Stayed overnight on the glacier, in tents (Ice wrestling, Gus bathing in snow, My Implants Are Frozen) TAR7 - Stayed overnight on the beach after digging up sand piles TAR8 - Stayed overnight after pitching tents TAR9 - None TAR10 - Stayed overnight at the Forbidden City after grabbing timings (Bilal & Sa'eed surprise elimination) TAR11 - Stayed overnight at Pim's Restaurant or something TAR12 - Stayed overnight on the island of Inis Mor, 3 departures to mainland the following morning But seeing that they were spotted in Chicago on the night of Apr 22... They probably got into Sao Paolo early in the morning and probably encountered an Hours of Operation with probably some sort of "Grab-a-number" thing to make things fairer. Then the Sao Paolo leg will be ran on Apr 23 and finished by probably mid-afternoon and then 12-hour pit-stop before the start of the next leg in the wee hours of Apr 24 and then a flight to Salvador where they have to do that rappelling task in the morning. Hoping that they'll visit maybe another South American country for one leg and then leave the continent before it gets too draggy, ala TAR7 & TAR11.

(which is a fairly large city so a direct flight from LAX to Salvador should be available). No not really, most international flights that go into Brazil pass through Sao Paulo first. Unless you coming from South America or somewhere close you could probably get a direct flight. Half of my family lives in Brazil (Rio) which is the second largest city and we still fly through Sao Paulo. So if they were going to Salvador I'm pretty confident that they'd do the same. |
