Does Khia being on Miss Rap Supreme fall under this same sort of situation? Cause god I love and miss her already.

I just never understood the hype at all. All she did was scream every poorly chosen song. I was so afraid the hype would propel her, unfairly, into the
finals. I'm surprised, surprised that she went ahead of Syesha but Syesha pulled out her best performance to date, although it went under appreciated. Bye
Carly, hope I don't have to see too much of you making rounds on different shows with all those ugly tatoos.

Survivor jumped the shark when it starting casting contestants.
Similarly, I think this season will be remembered as when AI jumped the shark. |

I didn't like her voice at all, there was nothing pretty about it, nothing distinctive about it, I didn't want to hear her sing anything. I can't
imagine a whole album of her singing anything.

"[Simon] set the bar very high for me early on. A lot higher than he did for any of the other contestants. Whether somebody else forgot their lyrics or whatever, I could go out and do something great and he still wasn't going to like it. "Quote from Carly's interview from http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20007164_20171835_20195124,00.html Does anyone buy that? She makes it sound like she started out so much better than everybody else. If she's talking about the fact that she had that record deal, I get it - but she shouldn't complain about that, her past experience should have been an advantage. However, Simon usually only sets the bar high for people who start out with great performances very early on (and Carly, as I recall, did not have any great performances until the finals). I just think Simon's comments 1) reflected her freaky, tense attitude on stage and 2) reflected the fact that TPTB wouldn't want her to win the show based on the controversy surrounding her (she should at least have realized that). |

Honestly I actually agree with her. It's very obvious that the judges have double standards. They'll accept a certain type of performance from one
person but not another.
I think Simon did hold her to a higher standard than some of the others. Hell he even said on air that he was harsh on her because he wanted her to do better. Simon will accept or gloss over not so bright points in other people's performance but he'd call Carly out for something little. Just for example this week Simon was very nice to Brooke, he was like "I would have done exactly what she did," if that was Carly who did something like that I could totally hear Simon saying, "Carly you will be vulnerable because of that." Basically he'd accept mediocrity from others but not from her and no matter how talented he might think she is you can't do that in a competition like this. You should judge on an even level. |

Does anyone buy that? She also made the point on American Idol Extra about how much harder the girls have it because fan girls vote more for the boys. She doesn't seem to remember that 4 of the last 6 winners have been women... Could it be, perhaps, that the boys (or at least the Davids) are doing better because they haven't been fucking up as badly? Carly seems unable to conceive of the possibility that her every performance isn't a masterpiece. I'm impressed that the fans are more objective... |

The judges and producers probably blew smoke up Carly's ass during the audition stages (same with Michael Johns).
She probably bought into her own hype a bit too early. I think the foreign plants both thought they were TCO this season. |

The fans on this show are hardly objective. The public does not judge on performance.
Simon was much, much harder on Carly than on the other performers. It was obvious from the beginning. They didn't want a tattooed girl from Ireland to win this competition. |

I think the girls definitely have it a bit tougher this year and I agree with what she said, but I don't think she was talking about previous
seasons...just my perception. The judges have been much more positive toward the guys, whether they deserve it or not. I agree with PF also. I think that Carly
figured that out last week finally and just went out and had fun instead of being serious.

They didn't want a tattooed girl from Ireland to win this competition. If Carly knew anything at all about American Idol, she should have known that the odds of a tattooed girl from Ireland winning were slim at best. They haven't even been able to get a non-Southern winner, let alone a foreign winner. If she had gone in with more reasonable expectations, it might not have been as big a letdown when she got booted. |

I don't know why anyone is bitching about Carly talking about the judges having double standards or about fangirls. We all bitch about the judges and
fangirls all the time. If anything she has a very realistic view of the competition and knows the judging/voting is bullshit.

Was it Carly or Kristy who called out the fantards, and the men having an advantage? The same was with DWTS, one of the professional dancers called it out and
said a woman would never win since the audience is vastly female. (Hence four out of five winners being men ~_~). Too bad the male talent is what shapes a
season in terms of who wins. If the males suck, then the women may have a chance, but like Season 5 they all get decimated if the men are even slightly better.
And I don't say this as a vadge lover. |

Kristy did seem way more shocked about getting voted off that Carly. Her whole interview, she just seemed really bummed and disappointed, which is to be
expected. I think Carly had a lot more fun and it didn't come across as "whining" to me, but then again we all see what we want to see. I thought
she'd be the one who was going to be pissed off, but she didn't seem so.
Wait, I'm in the hate thread. Forget everything good I said. :) |

Max said that about DWTS also, that its females who call in and vote on there. Carly wasn't anything special that is why she is gone. I vote for females
on there when I like them. And her assuming that males would call in and vote for her, no they wouldn't even if they did vote.
Her scary creepy looking husband is on that AI Extra, and having a long period of time to actually look at him on it as he stood there with her, like that he has to scare little kids when he goes in a store, walks down a street, etc. |
