I wonder if Kelly Clarkson would come back to duet with him.

Oh, I forgot to mention something. How much did David remind you of Clay Aiken when he stared into the camera tonight? It kind of creeped me out for a
minute. I have to give it to Clay because he was and still is the best at working the camera out of all of the seasons of American Idol. I hated the effing
winking, though.

I just listened again to his performance on you tube--I've seen Phantom twice, on Broadway, and Cook was totally believable in this song. Considering he
isn't a highly trained stage performer? Wow. The feeling was there and his tone and pitch were fantastic. Add to that a few subtle rock touches. Very
well done.
Agree with James Barber, though--could have done without the rock extension on that last note. It was a more perfect performance without it. But still--awesome job. Best of the night. |

That was awesome. I respect him so much for just singing it straightforward. I'm very excited that he might be able to crush the chosen demon midget. |

Best of the night, as usual. <3
But I agree about the last note. He was holding his own singing it straight. He really didn't need to do that. Still, I bet the studio version will be FAB! |

Well aside from the very last note (which I didn't love), the whole thing was so fucking awesome. I knew he could sing like this, I am glad he did it
straightforward like that. I know he'll get slammed for something he didn't do this week, but tonight proved once again why he should win this shit by
a landslide.
I am sure the tards are shitting themselves tonight. After a busy day at work, I need some laughs. :)

Because I'm masochistic like that, I rewatched on teh youtube.
No sir, I still don't like the song. I've decided I flove his "serious" singing voice, but still prefer the rock style from him. |

wow that was some fricking kick ass singing. can i add to the cookie love train? i went from freakin out yesterday, worrying that they were gonna
"de=pimp" him to thinking tonight that he may just win the whole freaking thing. :)
might i add that he was looking majorly hawt. tasty cookies |

Hey Seaguy, you're back! All is at equilibrium in this thread.
I'm still finding it hard to believe not one judge praised Cook for his not changing the song up and doing his usual thing. And I know Simon isn't a fan of Broadway, but I thought he would at least appreciate Cook's vocals. Maybe it's strategy to keep people voting for the clear front runner, instead of getting complacent? |

I just thought about the lyrics to music of the night and now I'm getting dirty cooktard thoughts. Tremulous indeed.

I think he got decent reviews, and the crowd and fans loved it. I'm glad he didn't get tons of praise so now we don't have to listen to the people who say the judges always kiss his ass. His fans still loved it regardless. |

What an absolutely beautiful vocal. This guy really can sing anything. Anyone still making Daughtry comparisons needs to STFU, there is no way Egghead could
have pulled that off.
I do somewhat agree with Simon though. Love this performance but I'm glad David gave up the theater aspirations, he is at his absolute best when he's rocking out. Dagny, glad you liked the pic :) |

Blurdog, I love the pic! You have the "honor" of posting the pic I used for my first avi. Thx!
Can't compare to Daughtry, and I liked Daughtry for a while during the season. But he never connected to the audience, didn't have Cook's versatility or quality of tone and I just hated his side burns. Still do. Superficial, I know, but it's "just an opinion." Plus Cook just seems smart and well-spoken and I really do find that a turn on. (Okay, so I always dated/married jocks--but they were smart jocks who weren't afraid to do theater. Just like my brothers and sons.) |

Daughtry is very good in his natural element, likewise Bo. But they really are rather one-note (and I flove Bo). David has proven himself as the most versatile rocker this show has ever seen. Totally agree on his emotional connection to his songs. And that voice! He slays me with that voice. He really is the total package. One hawt awesome super-talented package. |

If David had been able to sustain that last note, it would have been one of the most amazing American Idol performances ever. As it is, still maybe the best of
anybody all season. Totally different from anything he's done before, and an AMAZING comeback after his three previous performances.

Bo was hardly one-note. No one has been able to match his accapella performance during season four. David Cook has a fabulous voice, but no one will ever
come close to Bo (in my eyes anyway).
Still on the Cook train though. We really need a rocker to win this year to keep the bubble gum crap to a minimum. |
