David Archuleta.
Think of Me from Phantom of the Opera Got hugs from a handful of young ladies. Nice restrained and upbeat start, if a little pitchy. Standing stationary thus far, and the vocal range isn't very demanding. Finally he brings some volume, and that 'flat' sound I've picked up on in many weeks, surprisingly, isn't banging on my eardrums tonight. It's not exactly exciting, but it's solid. Not much range throughout, although not much required. I'm no fan of Broadway, so I'm not going to be impressed one way or the other. But from what I see and hear, I'd have to say this fits the definition of ... A 7. Randy: If you can sing that, you can sing anything! You even put your Stevie riffs there. You were the one to beat! Paula: You took a risk on a known theatrical song, to turn it into a pop ballad, perfect. Simon: David, I thought it was pleasant. One of your weakest performances. Not one of the performances you'll remember. Forgettable. Sorry. |

Did he forget the words again? I couldn't tell, the camera was on the back of his head. Imagine that.

Wait a frickin' minute! Randy: "....you can sing anything..."
Really? What have you been watching? THIS is the only kind of things he can sing! Which is why they chose this week...because no one else BUT him can sing this kind of stuff! |

How much money did the judges get for telling him "yeah yeah it was good" despite him forgetting the lyrics and his bum notes.

Wow it is really sad that Syesha is the best so far ... Syesha is the best so far singing "One Rock & Roll Too Many" ... Syesha is the best so
far singing "One Rock & Roll Too Many" the way that she did?
David A. just reminds me of everyone who sings "Think of Me" as a romantic love ballad and that always pisses me off because that is not the type of song it is. But the fact he sang it while having his stage father maybe he does get the story behind the song. |

Simon was right about Archie..."Forgettable" it sounded just like every other song he's sung no better no worse, just forgettable and incredibly boring |

I thought that was good but Syesha has been the best tonight so far. I would rank as follows...
Syesha David Jason Brooke - I make no apologies. I dislike her and her poor-put-upon face immensely. |

I thought David was the best of the night by far. I don't get why Simon didn't like it.
