Sure there is luck in Survivor, but you know what, I don't get the idea that siding with the Fans was "really" her best bet at this point in the game. What's to stop her from being the outskirts of a fan alliance come merge. Her best bet was to stick with her tribe until let's say merge, and THEN flip. And really, she had to see that Chet wasn't going to last long, and so alligning with him was dumb. I think at this point in the game Ami's flipping was more about "being in control" than really strategic sense.
And yes I found her crying about her loyalty being questioned and not being included to be incredibley self righteous. (Unless it was a ploy to get others to keep her) Talk about being self delisional. People say that Ozzy is the one who is self righteous and doesn't play the game, but seriously I think Ami is the one with this problem.
(It's okay for Ami to form an alliance that doesn't include Ozzy/Amanda, but how dare they do the same to her.. )
