Do they have a specific lattitude range that they look in?

I think Canada/Hudson Bay would be a neat area....they could even do Canada and do it at a place like the Boundary Waters between Canada/Minnesota. It's easy to picture a Survivor logo with a moose, pine trees, and rapid rivers on it. I would also think a place like Iceland or Norway/Sweden/Finland would be pretty unique and entertaining from a cultural perspective. Even Ireland or Scotland. Imagine a bagpiped Survivor Theme. I've been waiting for a season that plays up a Greek, Roman or Norse mythology theme. There are so many myths you could design challenges around that it would really make for a more unique season than some of the more recent seasons which have rehashed challenges from previous versions. If they're going to cast several fairly boring/invisible people each season like they have been lately, it seems like they'd at least want to make the challenges elaborate and entertaining and throw in some cultural entertainment.

Gabon/Congo sounds like it could be a good season...but the average person doesnt know much about the culture there. Which is why I'd rather see another place that either has a popular culture/myth about it rather than more islands or unknown countries.

The neat locations, in my opinion were: Australia, Thailand, Pearl Islands, Guatemala and China. Most of the small island locations are appealing to look at, but I remember being really excited about those 4 seasons I listed because of how they would work the culture into the game. Places like Borneo, Palau, Marquesas, Fiji, etc. are all unique and have their own definite cultures, but they kind of run together and end up not being very memorable locations for gameplay. Locations like the Africa season and Amazon worked from the standpoint that people have general ideas about where those places are, the wildlife, etc., but the locations didnt do much as far as aesthetic value. Africa was very "yellow" and Amazon seemed really dull and dank.

Thats why I think Scandinavia, Arabia/Egypt, India, Japan, Canada, Chile/Brazil/Peru would make good locations. They're areas that are a bit more familiar and understood to the average American, and have a lot of possibilities that they could use to tie in the location to the challenges and designs.

I can understand why they've re-used a few locations, but doing that too often kind of takes a bit of the fun away from the buildup before the season.
