That performance was terrible. And what amazes me is that the judges loved it. God, if David C becomes a one trick pony ala Chris Daughtry, my seething hatred
will continue to grow. Fucking hate!!!!!

A cover of a cover. Shocking! |

Ah fuck. Well that t.ears it. If it had been anyone but Doxology. I don't know where this fucker gets off, thinking he can get away with covering a
cover of the cover by the widely hailed Doxology (which may have even been a cover of a cover of a cover by Godhead!). He would have gotten away with it too,
were it not for that meddling TMZ.
You know, come to think of it, there's this local band that plays at Elroy's Ribs, Chicken and Tater Shack on Saturdays here that has a cover of Eleanor Rigby that also sounds suspiciously like the one Combover did last night. Once I get a hold of the bass player who also happens to be my bowling league partner and Roto Rooter guy, I'll have him get on the case. We must not let covers of covers of other band's songs destroy the integrity that this show has fought so hard to establish. |

Doxology did it 1,000,000,000 x better.
BTW, this "Doxology" sounds pretty damn good.

BTW, this "Doxology" sounds pretty damn good. Yeah, they're not bad at all. It's just that I find the whole idea of someone bitching about a cover done of someone else's song (or possibly another cover by Godhead) sort of fucking hysterical. To my knowledge, Randy (usually the guilty culprit) didn't suck his ass for the arrangement or anything did he? |

I didn't think the performance was anything great, but I'm past the point of caring if people use the arrangements of other groups or not. It happens
all the time on Idol. Nothing in that arrangement from last night sounded all that distinctive, it just sounded like a slightly altered version of the
original.
Doxology sounds like something from Prince when he was going by an initial. |

Yeah, it does all get kinda a lame I suppose.
I am a stickler for artistic integrity, but I am starting to realize that bitching about contestants "ripping off" arrangements and such is a little hypervigilant. Doxology is probably just trying to get a little shine from the exposure. They are good enough to be more than undiscovered/unsigned, so good on them. |

The only way it bothers me is if the contestant takes credit for the arrangement, which no one has done. Daughtry came closest to it, by not correcting
Randy's stupidity.

He should mention the bands he's stealing from. No one will care that he's not ORIGINAL. He starting to come across as a real douche.

Maybe they aren't allowed to say certain things like names of other bands before clearing it first. But who gives a shit really? |

I watched again and the performance was honestly more like, "AHHHHHHH LOOK AT ALL THE ANGRY PEEEEOPLE!!!!!!!"
Except for the brief intermission he took the smugly mug for camera/eye boink a fan... it was a real "Yeah, I know I'm the shit," moment. I hope he doesn't become THAT guy. |
