I do agree that it's market driven which is why some of those that made it baffle me. I mean I knew Danny wouldn't make it far but he's certainly more marketable than Jacuzi, David Hernandez and David Cook.

Sanjaya's personality lay in his hair. He never had the confidence or presence to take on a job like an MTV veejay, or a red carpet reporter. Danny wasn't right for Idol because middle America is still scared of people like him. But give him a TV gig where he can just go at it, and I think he'll be a huge success. BTW, I loved watching his hair get longer through each stage of the competition last night in his recaps. I always forget just how much time goes by between first auditions and what we see live.
