I root for collections of 4 young horsemen who make alliances together
I root for those who I would be aligned with had I been on the season. The people I can relate to and would like to see succeed. The Michael Bortones, the Dave Crusers, the Joe Don Mortons, the Earl Coles, the Sekou Bunches, the Austin Cartys, the Marc Nelsons and the Rovilson Fernandezes are the ones I picture myself as. |

I root for the underdogs (ie Kathy, Courtney<although not as much since she's safe from being voted out most of the time>, Peih-Gee) or the naturally

It's not that I've never rooted for a younger contestant, it's just that the older contestants I just end up liking more often, so I tend to root
for them. But like last season for example, of the merge group the oldest contestants were the ones I liked the least. In fact, my list of who I liked in China
goes about from youngest as most liked to oldest as least, and the only good older castaways [Chicken Dave and Leslie] went pre-merge. So it's not like I
always root for the old people, it's just that I find I like them a lot.

have you noticed that the cast is getting younger and younger though? Less normal odler people and more young hotties. Not liking. now we have one or two token
old people with a cast of 25 year olds.

What a moronic belief It has nothing to do with immaturity/mactor-ness. There's such a high proportion of people in their 20s compared to any other age group that that group is bound to have the most duds and most unlikable people. With only a handful of 45+ year-olds in the past few seasons, they stand out more and it's easier to root for them. There are just as many (probably more actually) people who root for the young contestants but since there are so many of them, the fans of 20something Person A and 20something Person B, etc. effectively cancel each other out. It's hardly a rule that older people > younger people though; anyone in Micronesia besides Joel > Chet. |
