damn... I had hopes for this show but it sucked all the way around. There isn't one good thing I could say about it. Or is it a good thing to be ONE small
step up from Cashmere Mafia? Well than I guess that is the one good thing I could say. I don't see this show making it. Is this really the theme for these
women dominated shows? Highly professional, (some) beautiful women, that have issues being in power with their mates (ie: bringing home the bacon) - or
struggle with their marriages/relationships + meet up for walks through the park buying second hand stuff or meeting for lunch, dinner, drink on the terrace???
I used to love Brooke Shields too but she just needs to pull out and go home to the kiddies. I mean that in the sincerest nicest way. Just go Brooke -
don't look back.

Got shitty ratings last night. Will be cancelled soon.
I still love Brooke Shields, though. I met her once. She's super nice. That's why I found it so hard to buy her as the "ruthless" head of a movie studio. Not believable at all. |

What kind of jobs would you prefer to see on Cashmere Mafia and Lipstick Jungle?

Well...actually...nah, I'm not going to go there.

I actually liked Cashmere Mafia better-it had a slightly better sense of humor about it. Only thing REMOTELY humorous about this was the twit fashion
designer.

I wasted forty-five minutes of my life before deleting this crap-fest from my DVR.
Can't believe I even recorded it, but I LIKE Brooke Shields and Kim Raver, so I thought I'd give it a shot. What a mistake. The only other thing I've seen in the last two years that was worse than this was The Truth About Cats And Dogs, which I finished only because I thought maybe there'd be a few more furry animals to enjoy (there weren't). It is extremely rare for me to give up on something after a single episode -- pilots are notoriously never that great. It is even rarer for me to throw in the towel before the final credits. Mom taught me to always try something before passing judgment: this is why I enjoy broccoli to this day. This is more like tripe (both definitions). Agreed: cancellation coming soon. Don't waste your time. |

I DVR'ed this stupid show only because I heard Kerry Butler would a supporting role on it as some sort of assistant, sucked that she wasnt in this episode.
But yeh, the show itself blew, I cant imagine it lasting very long at all. I just hope Kerry is in the next episode so I can stop watching it after that.

How the hell was this garbage better than CM?

I liked CM's more comedic vibe, and CM actually has a good cast. Lipstuck Jungle is a huge mess. I like Brooke Shields, but her being an aggressive movie
head isn't a good fit. Lindsay Price as the dumbass designer isn't a good fit either. This show had potential if it had a better cast. Cancelled.

Exactly. As a whole CM's characters are way more likable. The exposition and inciting actions were more subtle and the clothes and accessories are way
better. I hate hate hate Brooke Shields and dont buy her and her character for a second.

See, I enjoyed this show but I've never watched an episode of SITC or that Mafia show so I have nothing to compare it to.

Anyone watch last night? Still not feeling Brooke Sheilds, but Kim Raver and assistant boy are good together.

I watched on-line. Must say it has improved since its pilot, but not by much. I think I prefer this women in the workplace drama more than Mafia because
there are less characters. Kim Raver and her boy-toy are the hotness. Fashion designer and billionaire boyfriend are moving into too "end of a romcom
movie" too soon. Though they at least put some much needed soap opera tension into her storylines. Brooke Fields too nice to be true movie studio head
is grating on my last nerves. I know it's her character flaw, but it's still kind of vomit inducing. Someone that's clawed her way up to the top
in that industry is never so nice or thin skinned. I like that she has a nemesis, but it seems she has no business skills in dealing with rivals.

See I like Brooke's character because she is NOT a raving hard nosed bitch. |

There is only one reason to watch this show, and he is a good one:

So what's the deal? Are they setting up that Kim Raver's husband is also having an affair and she's finally catching on or what? The Lindsay
Lohan character tonight was not pretty enough. I felt that storyline really fell flat. I'm also not getting the Victory Ford career storyline at all.
Was she not at the top of her game before her fall? Even when designers have poor seasons they still have name recognition and don't need their friends to
pass along their name to some starlet. You'd think that Victory would at least have a fallback as a celebrity stylist or costume designer. That
would've been a more believable storyline if Brooke Sheilds had hired Victory to design the wardrobe for her next movie. The writers should just follow
Isaac Mizrahi business route. He was a critically praised designer who lost it all due his poor business sense and somehow has clawed his way back up.
I'm not sure if the storylines are better executed in this femal workplace drama as opposed to Cashmere Mafia. But the wardrobe in this show is infinitely
better. Half the time I'm wondering WTF the costume designer on Mafia is smoking when she puts Lucy Liu in partial fur trimmed track suit?

Kim Raver and Kirby are all kinds of HOTNESS. They need to make him a full-time cast member and let them be together. I definitely think the husband is also
having an affair. I just don't want them to work with it.
