My question is....will RealPlayer or CBS offer some sort of re-payment or partial payment if someone signs up for 3 months of BB feeds, and only receives 1.5 months of what they paid???
Doesnt seem fair if not, but then again...are they ever?

Feed Subscribers Screwed? |
Lead | |
|
As someone who has always gotten the 24/7 live feeds...I have to wonder if I should or not this season. Is there anyway to know is this will be, in fact, a
full season...or a shortened one? It seems like a pretty split decision at this point. Most likely they will decide how long the show runs based on the
outcome of the writers strike, and the season could be as short as 6 weeks.

Oh weeping Christ on the bloody cross....what is that? Six bucks?? It's worth every penny who the hell cares!

Technically it is 39.99 for 3 months, or 19.99 wasted for 1.5 months we are screwed.
Slightly more than 6. |

I agree with Jani. As a true Big Brother fan, I don't mind getting the feeds this time around. As a matter of fact, I am still subsribed from last season.
I don't think the length of the season should have an effect on anyones decision. I guess you could buy the 1 month subscription if you can't afford to
do the 3 months. Anyways good luck. 2 to 3 more days!

I hear ya. I went ahead & got the 3 month thing but I noticed they aren't calling it a Season Pass anymore. At least I didn't notice it. All it
said was a 3 month pass. Verrrrry tricky of them. I bet if you call to bitch (if it turns out to be a short season) they'll tell you they have all kinds
of other cool stuff for you to take advantage of. Which is bullshit. Plus, trying to talk to Mohib in India is next to impossible to understand.
But it's done so I'm stuck. I AM totally enjoying the NASA thing on right now though. For anyone who hasn't ordered yet the $14.99 monthly offer might be a little better. It's all a crapshoot though. |

We will get a full season folks, stop worrying.
Once the strike ends it will take time to get everyone back to work, adjust scripts and begin filming. CBS is going to want to save as many of the big ratings shows for May sweeps. |

Broadband vs Dialup | ||

Does anyone here use dial-up to access the internet and/or feeds? I do not have access to broadband any longer and would like to know if it's possible to
watch the feeds with dial-up? Seems like I once watched the feeds that way. TIA

BigBruhvuh wrote: The quick answer? No. The long answer? You're not signing up for a season pass of Big Brother this time. It simply doesn't exist. They're just using Big Brother to sell one of two standard SuperPass subscriptions. Per the sign up page: You agree that we shall have no liability whatsoever relating to the Content and you waive any claims you may have, now or in the future, against us relating to the Content. You agree to comply with our Terms of Service. The difference between paying $14.99/month s $39.99/3 months is only $4.98 over three months. That's a "savings" of $1.66 per month. That's it, $1.66. I recommend that, given that nobody is really sure how long this season will be....you just buy the $14.99 montly plan |

They have said 90 days on several occasions and RealityBBQ has said the end date is set for early May.

Yes, it may be. They offer several different speeds for the feeds, though they don't necessarily publicize it through their viewer. You need to find the
direct links. I'm pretty sure they'll be making the rounds in the next couple days.

Just get the 3 month pass. It's cheaper in the long run. The only way you lose is if it runs for only 8 weeks. And really, you lose $10.00, big
effing deal.

I've been watching the feeds on my dial-up since season one. Of course the video is kind of static but the audio is clear. I alternate between 150K & 56K to get the best shots. Plus I have found I get much better reception using the BB Reloader viewer or the free Real TV viewer. It's worth looking into those. Check the questions thread stickied above. |

I LUV TIJUANA wrote: That's what I thought, too. There's no way the looming end to the writer's stirk is going to end BB early at this point. Most of the shows used up their scripts and shut down production...once the strike is over, some of the shows may start production again, but others might not until they get back into next fall's episodes. For those that do start up again, it'll take 8-10 weeks or more to get the shows ready for broadcast because they have to start from scratch with script writing first. I don't know why people are worried. Some people just like to believe rampant Joker's rumors. |

It shouldn't matter if you lose $10.00 or $0.10
It's bad business ethics. Luring you to purchase their product with the promise of one thing, then after you've given them your money, they switch it up and say, "Eh... slight change of plans." It might only be a $10.00 loss, but that ten bucks adds up for CBS/SuperPass to make a decent profit. Certainly enough profit to allow the show to run longer than 6 - 7 weeks.

wouldn't 14 free days + 2 months @ 14.99 be much cheaper? Who watches the last week with only 2 ppl stuck in the house anyways.

If you're having this big of a predicament buying the feeds. Then don't buy them. If you don't care, buy them.
It's not like we're spending hundreds of dollars to watch the live feeds. And I'm sure most of us can afford the $39.99. Oh well though, in the long run it's up to you. But if the show is 6 weeks and you buy the 3 months, you can rewatch the feeds and all that jazz if you're really up for it. |
