Now that TAR12 is over, and with pretty much a sad ending... I can get focused on doing the Fan-Fic. Thank goodness. Which team will be eliminated NEXT?
 And I'd give a prediction of around Saturday for the

getting rid of another father/daughter team again!

Bloody inhuman!" - Michael http://home.vs.moe.edu.sg/tanchd/sanders_previouslyon.mp3 Phil: Previously, on The Amazing Race… 6 teams left the congested city of Dhaka, Bangladesh and flew nearly 5000 miles to Queensland, Australia! Thomas: Fly to Queensland, Australia! Zoey (in an Australian accent): G'day matteee! Phil: Once in Australia, all teams were neck and neck… Zoey: Holy canoly! The people from the later flight are just behind us. Ashley: So it looks like we're not that far behind after all. Jessica: Yeah. The race is on, baby! Phil: Teams faced their fears which included coming face to face with a crocodile as well as riding on some of the world's scariest theme park rides. Florence: I don't know if I can… Henry: Just suck it up, Florence. DO IT! Jenn: Oh my god, I can't do this... *cries* Nicole: Jenn! We have to do this, please! Phil: Meanwhile, Michael & Tiffany's relationship fell apart. Tiffany: I'm so over this, Michael. I can't believe how ugly you've become in this race. Michael: I'm not going to talk to you. Tiffany: *cries in the backseat* Phil: Jessica & Ashley and Jason & Nicholas battled it out at the Detour to avoid being U-Turned and being eliminated. Jessica: It's now just down to us and the boys. Jason: The race hangs in the balance right now. Phil: Jason & Nicholas triumphed and U-Turned the Doctors. Jessica: DON'T U-TURN US!! Jason: We choose to U-Turn Jessica & Ashley. Jessica: DAMN IT! Phil: But Jessica & Ashley were given a glimmer of hope as Jason & Nicholas struggled at the task before pit-stop. Ashley: WHAT…?! We're still in this! Nicholas: Wow. I totally can't believe it. Jason: WHAT ARE WE DOING WRONG?? Phil: But in the end, Jessica & Ashley still could not make up for lost time after being U-Turned and became the seventh team to be eliminated. Jessica: This race has just been phenomenal. Ashley (conf): This race really brought us closer… I definitely know that I wouldn't do this race with any other person. Phil: Now… only 5 teams are left. Who will be eliminated, TONIGHT? -credits roll- http://home.vs.moe.edu.sg/gabrielwlj/bandscore.mp3 Phil: THIS is Q1… the tallest all-residential building in the world. Located in the heart of Queensland, this was the ninth pit-stop in a race around the world. Teams arrived here at the end of the last leg for a mandatory rest period. The 5 remaining teams have no idea what's in stored for them or where they're heading next. There are only 5 teams left and with the million dollars in sight, everyone wants to win. And everyone CAN win but which team will not make the cut this leg? Will Thomas & Zoey's inability to communicate well with each other in the previous leg spill over to this leg and cost them the race? Will Michael & Tiffany be able to hold on to their lead and go all the way, now that they have new-found relationship problems? And finally, will Jason & Nicholas be able to make it out of last place? Michael & Tiffany who were the first team to arrive at 5.18pm will depart 24 hours later, at 5.18pm the following day. Michael: Alright, baby! Let's see where we're going next! -rips clue- Tiffany: Fly to Singapore! Phil: Teams must now fly nearly 4000 miles to Singapore, one of the smallest yet one of the most prosperous country in Asia.  
  
Michael: Amazing!! Tiffany: C'mon, let's start the leg on a high. -kiss- Michael: Wohoo. Let's go go go! Michael (conf): I just wanna show Tiffany that I'm still the same husband that I was before the race. Tiffany (conf): Yeah… For the past 2 legs or so… he's been terrible. It's just be an uphill struggle for me if my partner is an asshole. Michael (conf): I KNOW I am a GREAT husband. And this leg… I'm gonna prove it. Tiffany (conf): I hope so, Michael! -in a cab- Michael: Singapore, Tiffany. That's awesome, right? Tiffany: Mmm hmm. -smiles- Michael (conf): I definitely don't wanna jeopardize our relationship over a million dollars. Tiffany (conf): But don't get it wrong. We ARE gonna win it still. Just that we're gonna do it better and with a little more grace. Right, honey? Let's go over to Singapore Airlines first! **both of them run to the counter** Michael: We would like 2 tickets on the flight that will arrive in Singapore the earliest, please! Singapore Airlines (SIA) Counter: Do you want us to check for other carriers other than SIA? Tiffany: Oh yes, please do. SIA Counter: I've checked… And double checked… SIA's flight to Singapore which connects via Sydney, Australia is the EARLIEST possible flight. Its departure time is at 6.30pm. Michael: Thank you SO much! Tiffany: Much obliged! Michael: This is GREAT. -both of them smiling heartily- Michael: Now we just have to make sure NONE of the teams get on this same flight. Tiffany (with an evil smirk): It's a done deal, Michael. We're so set.... The other teams will not be able to catch this flight! Michael: We're so set, baby! Tiffany: I love you, Michael! -kiss- **at 6.30pm, Michael & Tiffany's flight en route to Singapore just took off** Phil: Michael & Tiffany are now on the first flight out, from Queensland, Australia to Singapore. This flight connects through Sydney, Australia and is scheduled to arrive in Singapore at 10.20pm. Henry (at pit-start): Another leg, Florence! Florence: It's so ON the moment you rip that clue, Henry! **Henry & Florence depart from their pit-stop at 6.45pm** Florence: Fly to Singapore! Henry: Wohoo! Florence: Never heard of it…! Henry: Tsk. You women are so ignorance sometimes. Florence: Shut up. Florence (conf): We've had occasional spats but that's just how we communicate. Henry (conf): We recover from them quickly and most of the time we don't even put it to heart anyway. So who cares right? Henry: Bickering at pit-start. Not good… Florence: I know that!! Let's keep focus on the race! Henry: Mmm. --in the cab-- Henry (to camera): Hopefully… we'll be able to separate ourselves from the other teams through getting a better flight than theirs. Florence: I don't think so though. We're all pretty close together in terms of check in times. Henry: Except for Michael & Tiffany… Where the hell are they now, I wonder? -scene cuts to Michael & Tiffany on their flight, enjoying their time together- **Jenn & Nicole depart at 6:52pm** Jenn: Fly to Singapore! Nicole: Yeah, heh! That's gonna be awesome. Jenn (conf): Nicole & I have definitely grown stronger through this race and though we have some stressful and unpleasant moments on the race… Nicole (conf): We've been enjoying every single second of this once in a lifetime race around the world. Jenn (conf): It'll be great to finally come in first though! Nicole (conf): Yeah, that WOULD be great. Jenn (conf): We want to be the FIRST all-female team to win the race!! -in the cab- Jenn: Hopefully we'll be able to catch up to Hen & Flo. Nicole: Yeah. Those guys kicked our butt last leg. Jenn: They're a strong team, for sure. Nicole: But we're as strong as them too, right? Jenn: Yeah, we are. -kiss- **Henry & Florence arrive at the airport** Henry: Based on my experience as airport personnel… we should go to the specialized airline company. In this case, it's gonna be Singapore Airlines. Florence: There's a Singapore Airlines flight leaving at 7.20pm, Henry. We HAVE to make that. Henry: If we're gonna make it, we're gonna have to run! -both of them start running to the SIA counter- Henry: PLEASE could you book us on your 7.20pm flight to Singapore? SIA Counter: The one that connects through Melbourne? Florence: YES YES. THAT ONE! Henry: Flo! Relax, you're scaring the poor woman. SIA Counter: It's okay. I've seen worse… Florence (conf): I was kinda… "high-strung" at the airport. Oops. Henry (conf): Hello? Reality check. You're always high-strung! Florence (conf): Who asked you?! SIA Counter: Doesn't look good I'm afraid. You two are doing this too last minute. Seems like the flight is totally overbooked. Florence: Please, this is VERY important! SIA Counter: We'll put you on standby. Henry: Will you be able to do us a favour and give us priority on standby? We really need this! SIA Counter: Okay… I can do that. Florence: When you see teams like us later... straightaway put them on a later flight...! Florence (conf): If you don't be cutthroat now... You'll be eliminated. And that's not an option for us. SIA Counter: I'll see what I can do. Henry: If we make stand by… it'll be great. Zoey (conf -pitstart): And it did cause us to have many navigational boo boos. Thomas (conf -pitstart): We're hoping this leg we avoid that because competition is heating up! Zoey: Found one, Dad! Thomas: Ahh, great as usual, Zoey! Zoey: Thanks Dad. You ain't half bad. Thomas: Yeah. I'm at least three quarters good! --- **in Jenn/Nicole's cab** Jenn: OH NO! Nicole: What?? Jenn: This is Townsville Airport! Nicole: You're joking right?! Jenn (conf): We told our cab driver that we needed to go to the Goldcoast Airport because there are more choices there… Nicole (conf): But he brought us to Townsville Airport… Jenn: Oh my gosh! Nicole: We're screwed… Jenn: DAMN IT. **at the airport** Florence: Please lord, let us make the flight! Henry: This is critical… **scene cuts to the SIA airline counter agent checking bookings and tickets** SIA Agent: Henry & Florence… You're on the flight. Henry: YES! Florence: We lucked out, man! **they collect their tickets and run towards the gate** **in the plane** Henry (to camera): The teams behind could possibly find themselves hours behind due to flight options. Florence (to camera): That's good. That's real good. **their plane takes off** Phil: Henry & Florence are now making their way to Singapore, via a connection flight in Melbourne, Australia. They are scheduled to land in Singapore at 11.15pm, just slightly an hour behind Michael & Tiffany. **at Townsville airport** Nicole: So now what? Do we stay here and try to get a flight or do we take the taxi back to Gold Coast's airport…? Jenn: I don't know. Let's think this out… Nicole (conf): At that point, it was just a "make use of what you have" situation. Jenn: We can't possibly go back, Nicole. It'll take too long. Jenn (conf): It would probably have been a 1 hour journey had we travel from airport to airport. Nicole (conf): And if we did that, we would be guaranteed a seat on a flight either with the last pack of teams or even behind them. Nicole: We have to think this out, Jenn… Jenn: Alright. We might be able to get a flight to a major city in Australia which might have an en route flight to Singapore. Jenn (conf): So we took a gamble and stayed at Townsville airport… Nicole: I'm sure Qantas would be our best option… Jenn: I just hope our gamble pays off. Nicole: If it doesn't… -shrugs- -both of them run to Qantas counter- --- **Thomas & Zoey arrive at the Gold Coast airport and run to SIA's counter** Thomas: Could you please get us on the quickest possible flight to Singapore? Zoey: Yes, please! SIA: Our next flight is only at 8.45pm. Thomas: Oh shoot. That can't be! Zoey: Any alternative flight companies?? SIA: Yes, there should be. I'll help you check. Thomas: Oh thanks. Thomas (to camera): Please let her find something. SIA: Yes, there is a quicker flight combination. Nicole: I don't know about that… Australia and Singapore are both regional air-connection hubs. Jenn: We just have to stay optimistic right about now right? Nicole: Yeah. I think we're fine. **they board the plane which takes off** -at the Gold Coast airport (T/Z)- SIA: Here are your tickets. Have a safe journey. Thomas: Thank you. Zoey: C'mon, Dad. We should run! **they run to the boarding gate…** Zoey: Please, lord. Let us get on that connection in Perth. Thomas: This could definitely make or break the game. Zoey: I just hope your intuition is right, Daddy. **they board their plane** http://home.vs.moe.edu.sg/tanchd/02_milan__italy_cooling_tower_fast_f.mp3 Phil: Jenn & Nicole and Thomas & Zoey are now leaving the Australian state of Gold Coast on two separate flights from two separate airports. Jenn & Nicole, who departed from Townsville Airport, are scheduled to arrive in Perth at 8.30pm, They already have confirmed seats on their next flight connection which is from Perth to the city island state of Singapore. Meanwhile, Thomas & Zoey are on a flight scheduled to arrive in Perth 10 minutes earlier. However, Thomas & Zoey have NOT been given confirmed tickets for the Perth-Singapore connection and will have to hope that they will be able to purchase them in Perth and be equalized with Jenn & Nicole. **on Thomas/Zoey's flight** Pilot Intercom: Ladies & gentlemen… I'm sorry to announce that due to airport conditions, arrival in Perth will be delayed by 15 mins to 8.35pm. Thomas: That could've just killed us… Zoey: We're just gonna run non-stop to the counter, Dad… Thomas: We HAVE to make it on this flight! **Jenn & Nicole arrive in Perth and are waiting around before they board their Qantas flight to Singapore** Jenn: I wonder where Thomas & Zoey, huh? Nicole: Probably on the finale leg already. -laughs- Jenn: Our taxi screwed us over, huh? Nicole: Well, it's something we can't control, Jenn. Gotta roll with the punches. Jenn: Yup. Even if we land in Singapore last, so be it. We can catch up! Nicole: Yeah!! -hold hands- **Thomas & Zoey's flight arrives in Perth** Zoey: This is it… *doors open* Zoey: RUN, Daddy! Run! Thomas (conf): We had very little time to make the flight… **Thomas & Zoey continue to run to Qantas as time is ticking and Jenn/Nicole are already on their flight** Thomas: We need to purchase tickets for the flight that's gonna leave for Singapore in a few minutes time! Zoey: Please, please! This is a matter of life and death!! Qantas Agent: This flight is full… Thomas: Darn it! Zoey: Is there room on stand by? Qantas Agent: Stand-by seems to be full as well. Qantas Agent: Please stand by the side and I'll call you if it becomes available. **Thomas & Zoey stand & wait by the sidelines** Thomas: If we miss it, I'm really sorry Zoey… Zoey: Dad… **scene cuts to rapid successions of various airport scenes including the ticket agent who is processing information and tickets** Zoey: I've never been this nervous in my life! Thomas: I think I'm gonna pee in my pants! Zoey: Eew, Dad. That's my line. You're a guy. You can't say that. Thomas: Oh please, let the ticket agent say "You're on the flight" Zoey: We are literally just crossing every possible finger that we can cross. Thomas: This could be huge… this flight… Zoey: -sighs- -as Thomas & Zoey look on, the gates to the flight is closing soon- Zoey: What's taking so long?? -long pause of tension of the ticket agent as well as Thomas & Zoey looking flustered- Ticket Agent: Thomas & Zoey… you are on this flight. Thomas -jumping for joy-: YES, OH THANK YOU. Zoey: What a night, oh my god!! Thank you SO MUCH. Thomas: YESSS!! -they grab the tickets and start running- Zoey: Oh dad! I'm so happy we made it! They sucked and couldn't finish their Detour faster than us even though they were there before us and that's their comeuppance. Survival of the fittest is what it's all about. Nicholas (conf): This race is getting more intense by the day! Jason (conf): Even though we're leaving the pit-stop last… we're confident in our skills which will bring us to the finish line FIRST. Nicholas (conf): We're the youngest… the fittest and the smartest team left. Jason (conf): We can WIN this thing. **their cab reach the airport where Nicholas is busy negotiating with the cab driver regarding the fare** Nicholas: No, this is too much. You didn't even switch on your meter! Jason: Let's go, Jason! We don't have time! Nicholas: BRO, just hang on! Jason: Dude…! Nicholas (to cab driver): I'm only going to give you this… Jason: NICHOLAS. GET OVER HERE! WE NEED TO GET THIS FLIGHT. Nicholas: YOU THINK I DON'T KNOW THAT?! Nicholas (conf): Jason is really just a control freak. He'd rather be on a one-person team… **after the cab fare issue is settled…** Nicholas: What's wrong with you?? Jason: We're in freaking dead last and you're so concerned about the freaking money. Nicholas: Oh just shut the **** up, Jason. Jason (conf): Nicholas is WAY too passive. I WANT to win this. I'm not going to make myself look like a pussy by losing to a bunch of grannies and grandpas. **at the SIA counter** Jason: Hi. What is the fastest flight that will get us into Singapore? SIA Agent: There is a 8.45pm direct flight to Singapore which will get you there at 12.55am. Jason: SHOOT! Nicholas: Are there any other better flights? SIA Agent: No. This is the last flight for tonight. You have to wait till tomorrow morning if you miss this. Jason: ****! Nicholas: JASON. SHUT THE HELL UP. Jason (visibily stressed & frustrated): We are SO screwed over right now... **as they buy the tickets** Nicholas: There's nothing we can do about it right now… Jason: All the other teams are HOURS ahead of us by now! Nicholas:: I just don't see how we can catch up… Jason: -kicks a wall- DAMN IT! **Jason & Nicholas board their plane** http://home.vs.moe.edu.sg/gabrielwlj/actionintensity2.mp3 Phil: Jason & Nicholas are now on a Singapore Airlines flight that will get them into Singapore at 12.55am local time. Meanwhile, Michael & Tiffany will be the first team to land in Singapore followed by Henry & Florence. Thomas & Zoey and Jenn & Nicole will arrive together with Jason & Nicholas a few hours behind. Once teams land, they will have to take a taxi to Clarke Quay, which is found along the famous and historical Singapore River. At Clarke Quay, teams will have to search for Ministry of Sound, a popular nightclub in the vibrant and youthful city of Singapore.

Michael: Tiffany, where are you?! Tiffany: Michael! The cabs are over here!! Michael: Good spotting, Tiff. C'mon, let's get going. -in the cab- -Currently in 1st place- Michael: Ministry of Sound at Clarke Quay please! Michael: From what we know, we're in number one right now. Tiffany: I just hope there aren't any bunching points in this leg. Michael: Well, I doubt that… Tiffany: Yeah… it's probable that this place will be closed and we have to wait for the other teams to arrive. Michael: Oh well… **they reach the Ministry of Sound nightclub** Michael: YES, TIFFANY! IT'S OPEN! Tiffany: Wohooo! Tiffany (conf): We were definitely excited when the nightclub was open. We basically thought that we were able to keep this lead from the prior leg. -rips clue- Michael: Route Info! Tiffany: Both team members must enter the nightclub… Phil: Teams must now experience first-hand how it feels like to be in a Singaporean nightclub. However, they will be too busy to enjoy it much. Teams have been given a picture of two outfits. Each team will have to find the 2 "clubbers" who are wearing the outfit pictured. This task may sound easy but in the confusing and adrenaline-rushed nightclub, teams may have a difficult time sieving out the required people. Teams must figure out for themselves that their next route marker is just a few meters away from the night-club, still in the Clarke Quay district. Michael: Oh my gosh. Jenn: Wooo! **all 5 of them are partying intimately** -Michael, Henry & Thomas are "chilling out" at the bar, drinking a few drinks- Michael (conf): We guys aren't exactly party animals. Henry: Look at Florence. Jason (conf): We just basically went sight seeing around the city for a couple of hours… **in a couple of hours later, all teams return to the bungee place to have a quick rest before it's time to continue racing** **at 8.55am, all teams are getting ready to enter the bungee** Jenn: It's a new day… A fresh start, kinda. Michael: Today's gonna be BRUTAL. I just know it. Thomas: Someone's going home today. But it ain't gonna be us. Jason: We are SO going to battle out of last place and win this whole damn thing. They will be treated to the fastest and most thrilling bungee ride in the world. They will be flung 60 meters into the air at speeds reaching 200km/h. Once teams have completed this task, they will receive their next clue.   
**Michael & Tiffany are first to get in** Michael: I love you babe. Tiffany: Me too. Operator: 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… LAUNCH. **they both fly up** Michael: WHAT THE ****! Tiffany: OHHH MYYY GOOODDDDD! Michael (conf): My heart flew out of my mouth, I swear. Tiffany (conf): That was by far the most exhilarating thing I've ever did… Geez! **they return back to ground** Michael: Holy hell… Tiffany: That was madness. Operator: Here's your next clue. Michael: Thanks. -rips clue- Tiffany: Route Info! Make your way on foot and find Thomas Stamford Bingley Raffles. Phil: Teams must now figure out that Thomas Stamford Bingley Raffles is actually the full name of Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore in 1819. Teams will then have to figure out that they are actually looking for Raffles' Landing Site to find his statue, located relatively near the G-Max Bungee area. Despite its proximity, teams will soon realize that it is quite complicated to get there on foot. Teams will find their next clue at the base of the statue.

Florence (conf): Basically we just started to wander around aimlessly hoping to find whatever we were looking for by luck. Henry (conf): It was definitely a bad move on our part. We wasted A LOT of time. Jenn: I found it on the map!! His statue is at Raffles' Landing Site. Nicole: YES. C'mon. Let's mark the route to go and let's get moving! Jenn: Alright. Michael: Oh my god. This is it! Tiffany: Oh yes! The clue box is just there. Let's run! Michael (conf): Oh my god. When we finally found the correct route, we were so happy. -rips clue- -Currently in 1st place- Michael: Fast Forward and Route Info! Tiffany: We used our Fast-Forward already, haven't we? Michael: Yeah, just last leg. So I guess we're doing the Route Info then. Tiffany: Alright. It says… take a taxi to Masjid Sultan! Phil: Teams must now travel by taxi to Masjid Sultan, also known as the Sultan Mosque. This mosque which is considered one of the most important mosques in Singapore for the Islamic religion is where teams will find their next clue.   
Michael: Alright. We need to grab a cab! Tiffany: Yeah, let's go before the other teams catch up! **they get a cab** Michael: Please, fastest possible way to Masjid Sultan. Cab Driver: Sultan Mosque? Tiffany: Is Masjid Sultan the Sultan Mosque? The same? Cab Driver: Yes… Michael: Alright. Then yeah. Sultan Mosque. Fastest possible way PLEASE. **at the G-Max Bungee** Thomas: Are you ready, Zoey?? Zoey: Not really, no. Thomas: Just relax. Zoey: I can't do that right now. Damn it. I'm gonna suffer a nervous break down. -Thomas hugs Zoey- Thomas: You'll be fine! Trust me, alright? Zoey: Alright. Zoey (conf): It's definitely less scary and distressing for me with my Dad around. Operator: 5… 4… 3… 2… 1… LAUNCH. Zoey: AAAAAHHHHHHH. Thomas: WOOAAAHH. Zoey (conf): It was mind blowingly insane. I wouldn't do it again but it was one heck of an adrenaline rush. Thomas: Good job, Zoey. Operator: Here is your next clue. Zoey: Route Info. Thomas: Search for Thomas Stamford Bingley Raffles. Zoey: It HAS to be some significant person. Probably already dead since he's an historical figure. Thomas: So it's likely to be a statue or a building. Zoey: And it has to be nearby. Thomas: Grab the map, Zoey. We'll do a search. Jenn: NICOLE. WE FOUND IT. Nicole: YES! Our map led us to the right place. -rips clue- Jenn: Route Info! Nicole: Take a taxi to Masjid Sultan! Jenn: Wait, there's a Fast-Forward too! Phil: There is only one Fast-Forward hidden on several legs of the race. The team that uses it and completes the required task may then skip all tasks left in the leg and go directly to the pit-stop. However, a team may use their Fast-Forward ability only once in the entire race, so they have to choose when it's in their best interest to go for it. In this Fast-Forward, teams have to make their way via taxis to the Esplanade, Singapore's famous and world-class centre for performing arts, locally nicknamed "the big Durian", due to its similarity in design. Outside the Esplanade, teams will find a marked area with tables that contain the notorious fruit, native to the Southeast Asian region; the Durian. The team that is able to eat 4 durians first will receive the Fast Forward award. While the task may seem simple, simply opening up the durian to extract the flesh will be a nightmare to some teams. Additionally, the pungent smell and its strong unique taste, repels most non-natives and could be a hard challenge to swallow for the teams.  
Jenn: Do you want to go for it, Nicole?? Nicole: It could be risky… Jenn (conf): There were only 2 Fast-Forwards left at that point. And 3 teams including us have not gone for the Fast-Forward yet… Jenn: Look, oh my god. It's Henry & Florence! We're ahead of them! Nicole: YES! Good! Alright, we should take this opportunity since we KNOW that the other 2 teams that have not used the Fast-Forward are still behind us. http://home.vs.moe.edu.sg/devms/airportrace.mp3 Henry: Damn it! The girls beat us to it! Florence: Let's just run there, Henry!! We're not far behind! Florence (conf): Personally, I was just glad we didn't spend hours searching for that stupid statue. Jenn: Yeah, I just hope it's not anything too difficult though. **they hail a cab** Jenn: Esplanade please! Nicole: Please. We need to be there as quickly as possible. Just stay at the maximum legal speed limit. Jenn: I just hope that Henry & Florence don't choose to compete with us on the Fast-Forward. Nicole: We just have to take this risk. There's only one more Fast-Forward after this… Florence: Grab a clue and let's abandon this place, Henry! -Currently in 3rd place- Henry: Route Info and Fast-Forward! Florence: The girls have not done their Fast Forward. They probably are going to it now. Florence (conf): It came to a decision on whether or not to use the Fast-Forward on this leg of the race. Henry: So it's either we save our Fast Forward for the next leg or we compete against Jenn & Nicole at the Fast Forward task in which they have about a 5 minutes advantage on us. Tiffany: Grab it! -rips clue- Michael: Detour! Tiffany: Chinese Culture or Indian Culture. Phil: A Detour is a choice between 2 tasks. Each with its own pros and cons. In this Detour, teams have to choose between two uniquely practices by the two very different racial groups in Singapore; Chinese Culture or Indian Culture. In Chinese Culture, teams have to make their way to the Chinatown district of Singapore and once there, each person will have to push a bullock cart filled with 20 5kg sacks of rice, a total distance of 3km to a marked rice shop. Once they're done, the rice shopkeeper will hand them their next clue. This task is highly physically demanding. But teams with enough muscle and stamina could find themselves racing ahead of the other teams.   
In Indian Culture, teams have to make their way to Little India where they will have to navigate through the confusing streets of Little India and search for two marked shops, namely the Indian Spices shop and the traditional Indian Clothing shop. Once there, they have to purchase two bottles of Indian spices and two bales of cloth pieces respectively. They have to make their way on foot, again through the crowded streets of Little India to 2 separate Hindu temples: the Sri Veeramakaliammam Temple and the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple to deliver each set of items. Teams will only receive their clue after completing their 2nd delivery. This task while not physically demanding could be daunting to those with poor navigational skills.   
 
Michael: Oh my god. This is a pretty tough one… Tiffany: I'd say the Indian Culture, Michael. We're pretty good at navigating. And pushing 100kg of load for 3km might be too much. Michael: Alright. We'll do India Culture then. Tiffany: C'mon. Let's go back to our cab! Tiffany: Oh my god?! Where's our cab?? Tiffany (conf): I specifically told the cab driver to wait for us… but somehow, it disappeared. Michael: What in the world is going on here? Where did he go?! Tiffany: Damn it, Michael. Phil: Teams must now travel by taxi to Harbour Front and then from there, travel by cable car to one of Singapore's largest tourist attraction, the resort island of Sentosa. Once there, teams will have to make their way on foot to the Carlsberg Sky Tower where they will find their next clue.

Henry: Carlsberg Sky Tower is supposedly right ahead! Florence: Where's Michael & Tiffany?? Henry: Up ahead… Florence: Oh damn. Let's run! Henry: Yeah, good idea. Can you manage though? Tiffany: C'mon, Michael. Take it and open it!! **both teams get the clue at the same time** Michael: ROUTE INFO. Henry: ROUTE INFO. Tiffany: Enter the Carlsberg Sky Tower…! Phil: Teams must now enter the Carlsberg Sky Tower and wait as it revolves to the top of the structure where teams will get a good view of the entire island. Once at the top, they may use the provided binoculars to scan through the view of the island and to locate the location of their next pit-stop; the famous Merlion statue. This Merlion statue which represents Singapore's history of being an old fishing village is the pit-stop for this leg of the race. The last team to check in here WILL be eliminated. Teams that do not find the statue on their first attempt will have to wait and try again when the sky tower goes back up to its peak again.

Florence: I know, I know! **both teams wait in the Sky Tower waiting for it to move up** Henry (conf): It was definitely quite tense waiting for it to go up as both teams just kept staring at each other… Florence (conf): After all, it did say FIND THE PIT-STOP. Michael: We have to look very carefully, Tiff… Tiffany: I know! Henry: Do your best, alright, Florence? Florence: Yeah. No room for failure! Intercom: Ladies and gentlemen, we have reached the top. Henry: GO GO GO. Michael: Grab the binoculars and start scanning!! **all 4 racers start to scan the area for their next pit-stop** Henry: Shoot. Where is it…? We need to catch up to the boys! Zoey (conf): It was crucial at that point to make it on the same cable car as them. Zoey: C'mon, Daddy! We HAVE to run this time! **in the cable-car** Jason: Oh my god. I hope they don't make it. Nicholas: I'm praying right now… Please don't let them make it. Thomas: They're still there! Zoey: WE CAN CATCH EM. Jason: Please, CLOSE already! Nicholas: COME ON! Thomas: Zoey, this is it. LET'S GO. **they both run to the cable car while Jason/Nick are waiting and praying for the cable car to move** Thomas: We HAVE to make it. Zoey: C'mon, Daddy! Just a few meters! **pause here for 20 seconds** **the cable car closes and it starts moving** Jason: YES! Nicholas: SAVED. Thomas: Oh my god, Zoey. We just missed it. PUH-LEASE. **camera shows both of them running to the pit-stop** Phil: Jason & Nicholas…? You are the FOURTH team to arrive. Jason: GREAT. Nicholas: Not bad… Phil: However, you have left behind critical race clues behind at the Carlsberg Sky Tower and I cannot check you in until you've retrieved those clues. Jason: Oh my god, are you kidding? Phil: No, I'm not. Jason (conf): Unbelievable! Nicholas: DUDE! Jason: LET'S GO BACK. Nicholas: OH CRAP. THIS SUCKS. **as they're running back to the Sky Tower* Jason: YOU HAD THE CLUES BRO! Nicholas: No I didn't! Oh my god. You were carrying them all along! I only had the last clue for this leg, damn it! Jason: Oh no. You're not pushing this to me. You just totally ***ked up our race! Nicholas: I DID NOT. YOU LEFT THE CLUES BEHIND. Jason: OH MY GOD. WE'RE IN DEEP SHIT NOW. Thomas: Alright, Zoey. You scan to the right arc and I'll do the left arc. Just be patient and look carefully. We don't wanna have to come up again. Zoey (conf): When we saw the boys, I was literally stunned for a couple of seconds… What the hell were they doing back there? Thomas (conf): Then it became apparent that they left their clues behind because they rushed back in and then rushed back out with a whole stack of clues with them. Zoey (conf): It was just a shocking twist of events… Thomas (conf); We couldn't believe that they left their clues and didn't take it back! Thomas: Oh my god, Zoey. We're still in this. We need to RUN! Zoey: What's going on? Thomas: THEY FORGOT THEIR CLUES. Zoey: OH MY GOD. WE'RE STILL IN IT? Zoey (conf): At that point, my brain short circuited… Thomas: What's the fastest route to go by, Zoey?? HURRY… Zoey: Erm… it's… erm… Jason: GRAB THEM AND LET'S GO! Nicholas: DAMN IT. Zoey: TURN THAT WAY, DAD. Thomas: IT'S A FOOTRACE. Jason: DAMN IT. IT'S A FOOTRACE TO AVOID ELIMINATION. Nicholas: WE NEED TO RUN! Jason: No way I'm losing to them. NO WAY. Nicholas: JUST KEEP RUNNING!! **Thomas & Zoey turn into a path that Jason & Nicholas didn't previously go by** Thomas: You sure this is the right way, Zoey? Zoey: I'm positive. Trust me and SPRINT WITH ALL YOU GOT. Jason: WHERE ARE THEY GOING?? Nicholas: They're going the wrong way!! WE GOT THERE QUICK USING THIS WAY JUST NOW. Jason: Oh my god. We're gonna be screwed if that's the fastest way! Nicholas: JUST KEEP RUNNING. Thomas: OH MY GOSH. Zoey: I DON'T WANNA GET ELIMINATED. Thomas: THEN KEEP RUNNING. Jason: OH SHIT. WE HAVE TO GET THERE BEFORE THEM. Nicholas: THIS COULD BE IT!! **multiple scene of the mat and the merlion with Phil and the pit-stop greeter* Jason: IT'S RIGHT THERE. C'MON! THEY'RE NOT THERE. Zoey: Oh my god… I see Phil!! Thomas: C'mon, Zoey!! **camera shows a team running towards the mat but doesn't real which team it is** **wait for the entire clip to finish and try to picture the two teams racing from two different paths to the mat** Pit-Stop Greeter: Welcome to Singapore. Thomas: Oh my god. Thank you, thank you! Phil: Thomas & Zoey…? Zoey: Please don't say we're eliminated… Oh my god. Please… Anything but that. Phil: You are the FOURTH team to arrive!! Thomas: OH MY GOD. Zoey: HOLY ****. **they hug and are in bewilderment** Zoey (crying): Oh my god… Phil: Why are you crying, Zoey? Zoey: I just didn't want this adventure with my dad to end yet… This race means a lot to us. Thomas: But we're still in it, ZOEY. Jason: Well, we basically beat ourselves. No one in this race beat us except ourselves. We lost the clue and that cost us… And it sucks SO MUCH. Nicholas (conf): Jason's always gonna be my brother, no matter what his flaws may be. Jason (conf): My brother and I may not agree on many things but we're still brother for life and nothing's gonna change that… Nicholas (conf): I'm sure most of the other teams are gonna be happy now that we're gone… Jason (conf): …simply because they KNOW that we are the STRONGEST team and we WOULD have won the race… -end credits-

While it's... not bad that Thomas & Zoey survived, you could have used a legitimate excuse to eliminate Jason & Nick, like them taking the
lift down instead of the stairs. Not leaving clues behind, which has never resulted in a penalty on the race before.
Good to see Jenn & Nicole finally winning a leg, and that the Fast Forwards actually require some form of effort. Have to note that Q1 isn't anywhere near the 'heart' of Queensland, heart of the Gold Coast perhaps (which incidentally, isn't a state), but not the heart of Queensland. Meh, now that it's all goody-goody teams left, I guess I'm going for Jenn & Nicole to win, and either Thomas & Zoey or Henry & Florence to go out next. Still, all minor criticims aside, I still think you've done an excellent job putting effort into this Fan Fic. The tasks are really well done, and you've kept a good balance of Old-School TAR and the new twists. (Without turning it into Yzysg's race) |
