Then there was even less reason for the editors to show that scene. This was the second episode where Amanda's strategic moments involved her being a tagalong for Todd (the last time was E2 when she was introduced to viewers by being Todd's alliance partner, after Todd had already been introduced to viewers). They could edit her as being an independent-minded player. Instead, they tend to put her on as being there with Todd, unless they have to show otherwise, like her saying she wanted to get rid of Sherea (even that was present as originally being a joint decision with Todd). They seem to be saying that even if Amanda does win, her win is more about Todd than her.

They have already shown Amanda criticizing Todd (twice). In this episode, it was that Todd is to frantic, and he's not patient. I think Amanda's words kind of contrast Todd's I'm the only one playing this game... One could suggest that perhaps Todd is overplaying.

The problem with Amanda in that sequence was she was the one who was making a spectacle of herself in front of everyone when she was looking for the idol. She drew their attention. Then Todd joined her. Then Frosti joined both of them. It's the same as when she claimed Todd was "devious", then said she was going to be working with him. For all her negative comments about him, she has been involved in these situations. The editors did not have to tie her so closely to Todd, they could have built up her ties to Aaron or Courtney, they could have left out the scene where she was told about HII. Instead, they have made sure we know she owes a great deal to Todd. Whether that means she loses, or it means she wins but they want to make sure Todd gets his share of the credit, I don't know.

And I disagree that Sherea vote was a joint decision with Todd. When the alliance met, Amanda was the one who started out telling everyone that Sherea had to go, and Todd was the one who "chimed in." Amanda was the one who knocked down Courtney. And Amanda was the one who kept Todd on track with getting out Sherea. I thought they made it very clear that Amanda was the one who orchestrated that boot.

I thought they played this up as initially being a mutual decision, then Todd began to wonder because of Courtney's objections. Todd talked to Amanda, she said she thought Sherea going made more sense, and they needed to think about their decision. This was another area where I think the editors could have made it very clear that Amanda was solely responsible for Sherea going (they could have included a confessional stating as much), but instead blurred the line a bit.

I know we could be heading for a story arc where we find out she was the puppet master and he was her dupe all along, but so far I think it's been either mutual or skewed more his way. It just feels like Amanda has been so ignored by the editors that any time she is not, suddenly she's this mastermind, because our expectations are low.

And I can see Denis/Jamie/PG will go for a female to win.

I still don't think PG would vote for a woman to win. People always say the women will vote for a woman. If they feel Amanda is a strong player, then I'm sure they'll vote for her. If they hate Todd, they would vote for her. But there are a lot of female players who refuse to automatically vote for the woman. Aras won every female jury vote when he was against Danielle.

She had a plausible cover story for Frosti. She's shit bored, and made up this little task for herself. (We already saw Frosti talking about being bored in camp last week.) She gently sticks with the story, as Todd panics.

I see what you mean, but then they had her say she couldn't believe how badly the two of them handled looking for the idol.

I do get that though, that the show may want us to see her as the more rational of the pair.
