With the first two seasons airing on VH1 and the third season premiering at the end of the month, I thought it would be good to have a thread to discuss Australias Next Top Model. Im really looking forward to watching it and reading other peoples opinions about the show and the contestants.

Two of the best seasons in the NTM franchise. I've been following up on post-show careers (yes, they do exist and for many of the contestants!), so when the time comes, pics will be posted.

Didn't many of the girls from Season 2 end up signing with Chic Management after the show was over? Just the episode tonight proves how much better these girls are than the American ones. I loved almost every single picture.
Anyway, I know people don't like her, but Sam is probably one of my favorite Top Model contestants. She's always put-together, outgoing, and well-spoken. She's also a lot prettier than I remember (although I did watch the season on Youtube, so I never really got a good look at any of them until watching it tonight  ).

This is so much better than the Tyra's NTM show. The judges are kinder - and don't designate half the show to what they think.
The pictures were so good too! Not so themed like Tyra's show. |

I thought the judges were way too kind to everyone and didn't offer up any constructive criticism at all. They must have gone to the Paula Abdul School of Reality TV Judging. That said, they made the right choice. I have to think that Chloe, Zoe or Gemma wins this thing.

I thought the productions values were shoddy (I particularly loved the paper table cloth stapled to the judge's table LOL), and the story line didn't build enough suspense. I had no idea who half the girls were.
The pictures were good though. |

At least half these girls don't look like anorexic drag queens. The pictures were all great, even that super skinny bitch looked good. Of course, that's probably why he had her lay down in the water. If I can remember this show is on, I'll keep watching it.

I love Sam and Gemma! I really enjoyed this version of NTM, its refreshing to see one without the blah blah blah of Tyrant and making the entire show all about her. I enjoyed the photo shoot as well not gimmicky and lame like the recent ANTM ones. I watched a few episodes of this on Youtube so I kinda missed hearing the girls cuss. Glad I wasnt the only one who noticed April's photo in the background during the judging. Atong reminds me of Niahbelle on The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency.

Rewatching the first episode. Hilarious! This group of girls are TV gold. Sam and Allana were dilusional, Gemma and her breakdowns, Simmone and Shannons "blonde" moments, Chloe was just amazing, I actually really liked Zoe, Atong was too quiet, and Nicole and Naomi were very interesting but had no hope! Awesome photoshoots and I like how they get two makeovers throughtout the show too!

It just hit me that when the girls moved into the house they were all gathered around checking out the bidet just like in the movie Crocodile Dundee. One of the girls commented that it was weird that they were all so interested in the "bumwasher".
I thought that was funny. |
