We're going to get this show in Toronto starting next week. They've finally run out of Everybody Loves Raymond episodes.

Brilliant. I am constantly startled by how much I laugh out loud at this show. So much television comedy is boringly bland or appealing to middle school vulgarities. Colbert is in character from beginning to end, and woe betide the unsuspecting congressperson who agrees to an interview. I can't believe the one from last night who sat there while Colbert combed his mustache.

I hate this guy. He tries SO HARD to be funny and I think he fails miserably. Maybe it's because it's right after The Daily Show and Jon Stewart is so effortless and natural in his humor.
I've even started turning the Daily Show off at the end so I don't have to listen to this Colbert lamer for even a few seconds. Seriously. Pay attention to him. His desperation to be funny is palpable. |

Mag's on crack. Colbert's effortlessly funny AND funnier than Stewart. I love every monet of the Report, Stewart is hit or miss and largely dependent on the correspondents.

Things I always enjoy:
-his staunch anti-bear stanace and how often he's able to work it in to the show (always present in some form during the "Threat Down" -the way he walks to the interview desk. Each time it's a little bit different and always hilariously over the top. -his love of BLTs. Like the bear hate it's odldy referenced A LOT. -The Word. Brilliant segment and always hilarious. His recent on on "Fuck" was particularioly amusing. "Where is our outrage against profanities? Outrage is the only thing that separates us from Canadians." -every single part of his now 233-part series "Better Know a Dsitrict". Whenever he says "The fightin' ___!" I howl. |

I try to catch all the BKAD segments, but generally I no longer regularly watch the show, partly because it's on at the same time as Letterman and partly because the joke has worn a little thin. Some of the in-studio interviews can cross the line from funny-uncomfortable to uncomfortable-uncomfortable.

Quote: I love this too, I don't know why. His interviews are great- especially when the interviewee crosses the line (as in approving the bitch-slapping of your wife) and he runs with it. Love him. |

I missed that last night. What did the guy say?
I loved when he slipped last ngiht and said "fuck" :D When he bvreaks or a guest makes him laugh it's endlessly funny. I think my fave 'break from character' moment was when he was doing the story on celeb couples and he came up with "Filliam H. Muffman". He actually had to cover his face with his notes he couldn't stop laughing. LOL. |

i was at a taping last week, and i was thrilled that he did "better know a district" while i was there. also thrilled that ralph nader was the guest.
it has not yet gone to his head. he is still very personable, and connects with his audience. i had also attended the daily show the day before, and it was fun to see that jon checks in with stephen before they do the "official" check in. believe me, jon gets his jabs in on stephen too. the word is inspired. and that's the word. |

Oh that's awesome. Yeah next trip to NYC I'm calling ahead for tickets to the Report.
Alos love: his over-enunciation of the 't' whenever he says 'report' in any other context than his and the show's name. |
