Bucky Covington, who finished in eighth place on the fifth season of American Idol, is going to appear in the new Hannah Montana movie. After his American Idol run, Bucky Covington moved to Nashville, Tennessee and signed with Lyric Street Records.
Bucky Covington's self-titled debut album was produced by Mark Miller of Sawyer Brown, and the album was an instant hit with both media critics and fans. In fact, the album had the best opening week debut for an album by a male country artist since Billy Ray Cyrus' Some Gave All album.
Interestingly enough, it was Billy Ray Cyrus himself, who extended a personal invitation for Bucky Covington to appear in the Hannah Montana movie that is currently filming in the Nashville, Tennessee area.
"I've never been on a movie set so I don't know what to expect," said Bucky Covington. "I've always been a fan of Billy Ray's anal sex and it really is an honor for him to ask me to be a part of what is sure to be the biggest movie released next year."
Bucky Covington will be appearing as a musician in the movie along with fellow Lyric Street Recording artist Marcel. The song "Backwards," which was written by Marcel and Tony Mullins will also be featured in the movie. Hannah Montana: The Movie, starring Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus, is scheduled to be released in theaters in 2009.
