Desmond's Fate - What will happen to him?

Posts: 373 (03/22/08 3:39 PM) MESS member Reply Quote More Recent Posts Message Connection Block Invite	So aren't we suppose to see the Oceanic 6 make it home by the end of the season? If that's true what fate is in store for Desmond? Will Desmond make it off the freigher? Will he make it back to his beloved Penny? Will Charles Widmore be a butt munch if he finds out Des is on his freighter? I fear that he will end up a tragic hero and never make it back to Penny. But my sincere hope is that they are reunited. I have to think at some point Charles Widmore is going to find out that he is on the freighter. But maybe that won't matter since Penny knows he out there somewhere. Feel free to speculate.

He'll probably sacrifice his place on the rescue boat just like Charlie sacrifice himself (minus the death part). And Penny, knowing that he is alive and where, will move heaven and earth to find him.

However, if you look at it again, you'll realize is that all she's saying is he won't be spending the entire rest of his life with her. And since that was said in 1998 or whenever, it is still possible he'll be spending his entire life with her MINUS 6 years...if that makes sense.

You would think since he made it to the freighter, he would eventually make it back to Penny. But, I don't think it really is a given. You have to wonder if Penny's father is going to interfere somehow.

I always interpreted as meaning right then not an 'always' thing. He wanted to marry her right away and she told him "nope" .

I'm hoping it's a good sign that he didn't go back to the island with Sayid. If he's still on the freighter when the Oceanic six arrive, I would think that would be good for his chances of reuniting with Penny. All I know for sure, is that they better not come up with some lame reason to put him back on the island. He already said he isn't going back, so to have him change his mind for a stupid reason would be dumb.
