Ryne Sandberg Fav memory? Going to Wrigley for the first time and just taking in the scene. Worst memory: getting whored out by the lightless Wrigley and losing three straight on the road against San Diego in 1984.

On average, I've attended about 20 games per year over the past 5 years. I still get a thrill just being in Wrigley. I believe the Cubs will win the World Series sometime before the 100th anniversary of their last win.

My favorite Cubs memory is my first visit to Wrigley. Truly amazing. My least favorite memory is every single Cubs season, especially last year, where they were in first most of the season only to flush it all down the toilet at the end. GO CUBS.

You know you have a problem, you know it's bad for you, and you know that no good can come of it. Yet you root, root, root for the Cubbies anyway. The first step is to admit that you have a problem. PS: wow Xeep, 20 games a year. VERY impressive.

Barry Bonds throws temper tantrum after refusing to yield the inside of the plate to Mark Prior. Sol, I couldn't agree with you more. How typical of the rollercoaster was it when they actually won the one game playoff against the Giants in 1996 (?) and then got swept by the Braves? I actually thought they stood a chance. Silly me.

My Name is crabby. I have been a Cubs fan since 1994, ever since I met my husband. It was quite apparent that if I wanted to be with this guy, I couldn't get in the way of the Cubs. (you wonder why i am so crabby, eh) I must say that each and every Cubs game has been amazing. Wrigley is the best!!!! I am a Cub fan, but before that a baseball fan. LOVE IT!!!

I have been a Cubaholic since the summer of 1983 when my father took a then disruptive 7 year old child, sat him in front of the televsion, and told him to sit still and watch the Cubs play the Houston Astros. Since then I have been hooked like Oprah at an all you can eat buffet....and annually disappointed. However, this is our year. I am serious. The law of averages and the depth on that pitching staff says so. Favorite former Cub: Jody...Jody Davis and Steve Trout Favorite current Cub: The Golden Boy Mark Prior Favorite Cub memory: Taking a day off of school and watching the Cubs smoke the Pads 13-0 in game 1 of the 1984 NLCS. Least favorite memory-tie: (1)Watching a coked up Leon Durham flat out miss a crucial ground ball in game 5 of the 1984 NLCS and (2) watching the "real father of our country" Steve Garvey hit a 9th inning, game winning homerun in game 4 of the 1984 NLCS. Crabby, my wife realized the exact same thing you did.

I tried it for a while in Little League but it didn't work out for me. I'm with you on the prediction. Ya gotta believe.

The funny thing was that I was in tee-ball at the time. I was fascinated by the little "Jody" song that Harry used to sing when Jody would come up in a clutch situation. Ya gotta love a pitching staff with 7 arms that can top out at or above 95 mph.

And he was a very quiet hitter; there was no movement at all until the pitch approached. He was one of the slowest guys I have ever seen, but he had a great glove. Durham had his hands high over his head and had that long swing that led to either long homeruns or strikeouts. Of course Sandberg had one of the worst batting habits of all-time. He would pull that front leg out and step into the "bucket". It allowed him the ability to really pull the ball but made him suceptible to breaking balls away. Ahh memories....misty water colored memories....

The two home run's off of Bruce Sutter was the performance of the year. It's just too bad that his wife was such a tramp. She slept with half the team and reportedly had multiple flings with Davey Martinez and Rafael Palmeiro. I digress... yes Sandberg was definately the man.

Next day Teenybopper DPR thwarted plans to go to day game at Wrigley by loitering in Field Museum where she'd dragged me to Dinosaur Families exhibit (this was summer of '97). They both promised we'd go watch the Cubbies the next day, but that was the day Interleague Play started and it was my bad luck that the two Chicago teams squared off against each other. Game was a sell-out, we went back to Oakbrook Mall, I'm still recovering financially. Can anyone tell me if the ex-Cubs factor is still alive? You know, the "curse" by which no ML team has ever won a World Series with a former Cubs position player on its roster in the postseason.
