I watched every episode on DVD right before Thanksgiving, and I think I'll do it again in a few weeks, just to make sure I'm REALLY ready. |

If you have HBO on Demand, they have Seasons 1 and 2 up. I watched both in about 3 days time. Watched the last 7 episodes of Season 2 until 8 AM today.
It got me pumped up. |

Can't wait! I'll be away on vacation, but you bet your ass I'll drag myself home from the bar in time to watch the premiere.
Also, my sister told me she heard on Stern that they're not doing the usual "show the first few episodes to the press" dealie this time. Apparently, whatever happens at the beginning of the season is so "shocking", they don't want it to be leaked ahead of time. Has anyone else heard this? |

I don't have high hopes for this season. That way I won't be dissapointed. HBO just plain sucks for taking so long between seasons.

I'll always love THE SOPRANOS, but it hasn't been the best show on TV for at least two seasons. The ante has been upped not only by network giants such as LOST but also by DEADWOOD. THE SOPRANOS had better "come correct or don't come at all." |

Personally, I only liked the first two seasons. I thought it lost steam quickly after that. I think some of HBO's other shows like Oz (until the last couple of seasons) and Six Feet Under (right to the end) held up much better. Its like the Soprranos fell victim to its own hype. I loved the seedy, small-time feel of those early shows. Now its too polished and typical.

Not to mention, season 4 was painfully boring. I would also agree about SIX FEET UNDER being stronger overall than THE SOPRANOS.
I'll take a ridiculously-over-the-top 24 to the last two seasons of THE SOPRANOS any day. |
