I'm looking forward to this, but the early reviews have been mixed.

Its like Touched By An Angel for drunks. I liked it, but I really like Holly Hunter. Its such a 'Holly Hunter role' that I dont know if she'll win over any new fans though. This character is so over the top.

I like Holly Hunter, but I just want to brush her damn hair on every promo. The braid thing is way too young for her, too.
I don't see much hope for this thing. I'm forgetting to watch The Closer, too. Luckily, they replay it almost as many times as The Soup. |

It really held me, which is hard to do that late (10 pm on the West Coast) on a Monday night. Her character is tough as nails; I always love kick-ass chicks and man oh man, she's that in spades. Not much to empathize with her, though, until the very last scene. But I think it's definitely worth continuing to watch. She's a terrific actress: I always have thought so. Some of her lines were flat out hysterical, they were so irreverant.

I love the character, I love the concept, but I hate the actual plot of this episode, with the missing girl.
Probably part of my enjoyment stems from knowing this would scandalize my mom, who is way into the Highway to Heaven/Touched By An Angel type shows. |

Interesting show - not sure if I like it or not. I love Holly Hunter, so I'm not sure if her character is way over the top or if she is as the actress portraying her.
I was completely surprised by the angel showing up - that was cool - and I'm interesting in seeing how many more "Angel-sisters and brothers" she has out there. And of course Lem showing up as a main character in a new show is always a plus. I'm on the fence about this one...we'll have to see how it plays out, but count me in on the whole kidnapped kid subplot thing. It would have been more interesting if she'd been found dead to test Grace's new faith. And am I the only one who isn't convinced that Laura San Giacomo is a native Okie? |

Quote: Is that the guy she hit? Was he Reese Witherspoon's boyfriend in that Little Red Riding Hood movie? The one where Jack Bauer gets his ass handed to him? Choppy...I think I'm sorry to sound prudish, but that first scene was just too over the top...maybe I was just jealous because she was fucking Lem. |

Leon Rippy is Earl...he was Tom Nuttall in Deadwood.

The guy that got hit was Bokeem Woodbine.

I didn't like the ending with the Angel brother. The dialogue was dumb, and it seemed Holly had to hold herself back from laughing.

Thank you smart people.
Yeah, I like the guy who plays Earl. He's really good in that redneck role. |

I have to see how this show plays out. It's too early to count it out. I'm not entirely convinced how Grace will be saved by God. I mean, if all she has to do is stop sleeping with married men, drinking and driving drunk then the show is already half way there. If she's supposed to become a pussy then there's not much drama there. The episode specific plot was kind of one note and done before. And that ending was ruined by that song too. I also can't believe Laura San Giacomo has found work post-Just Shoot Me. I thought her career was dead.

I gotta agree...it's apparent she's getting more than ONE last chance.

6.5 million viewers for the premiere, which makes it a huge hit.

Next week will be the true test. Sometimes these shows have a big dropoff from episode 1 to episode 2.
