The Cast Akeiba Burrell, daughter of MC Hammer Landon Brown, son of Bobby Brown Lara Johnston, daughter of Doobie Brothers singer Tom Johnston Chloe Latanzi, daughter of Olivia Newton John Crosby Loggins, son of Kenny Loggins Jesse Money, daughter of Eddie Money Jesse Blaze Snyder, son of Dee Snyder Lil B Sure, son of Al B Sure Lucy Walsh, daughter of Joe Walsh, guitarist for the Eagles I actually enjoyed this quite a bit. It's on MTV on Thursdays, and i was impressed with quite a few of these people. And as sad as it is, it entertained me way more than American idol did. Lucy Walsh and Crosby Loggins are phenominal. Crosby seems more professional than all of them and yours and everything so he definitely has a leg up. But despite that, Lucy did the best on the night. Also Olivia Newton John's kid is a lot of fun. Total VFTW material, but she's not even that bad just quite weird. Love Lara Johnston also, but I fear she may be in some trouble this week. So that's where all my votes are going. He's low-key, like his Dad, and that might not translate too well on a show like this. A big contrast to Dee Snyder's kid, who has the showmanship down pat. I haven't seen Crosby yet, but I expected him to be good. Chloe is kind of freakish, but she's unusual and I like that. I didn't get the comment about Lucy needs to not appear like Gwen Stefani. I know all white people look alike to some black people, but the only similarity was the blonde hair. Does June also think that Madonna and X Tina are trying to be Gwen?

I remember her being in the Tabs , her weight around 75 lbs. or something, but that mug will give me nightmares.

Landon sucked too, but Chloe couldn't stay on pitch to save her life. Yeah, yeah, she couldn't hear, blah blah. She made my ears bleed. And her vibrato was annoying as hell. Lucy was really the only one who had the whole package. Crosby was a close second. He's adorable, too.

Despite being one of the two best, the whole singer/songwriter vibe is not at all gonna appeal to the MTV crowd and I wouldn't be surprised if he's one of the first ones gone unfortunately. Anybody who sings Elvis Costello on week 1 has my vote through no matter what though. For those of you who missed it. I liked Crosby, even though I thoug he sounded like the guy from Barenaked Ladies occasionally. Still better than the other people I saw. Chloe was not very good, but I like her fat round face and huge lips, so I hope she sticks around for a while. I didn't get the "Don't be like Gwen" comment either, I thought she seemed very not-Gwen, but what do I know, I'm no celebrity judge. Speaking of which, other than Belinda, I have no idea who the judges are. Should I?

I'm going to watch it again just to listen better to them. We have until Sat. to vote, and online. I thought they were all pretty good for first time out. Chloe was not very good, but I like her fat round face and huge lips, so I hope she sticks around for a while. But I also thought that she probably can be because she certainly has a voice, but she was literally shaking with fear, and if I read it right about her she's never even performed before an audience before. I also liked the fact she chose an INXS song, that was cool. Didn't they say that Jamie guy is a choreographer to the stars or something. And the other woman was a stylist to the stars I think. I missed the first half hour of this, but from what I saw, I think I'll prefer this just because it doesn't seem so fucking micro-managed. I'm not sure how the process for picking their songs goes (maybe they explained it at the beginning and I missed it), but it looks like they can pretty much sing whatever they get clearance for. No ridiculously narrow themes, and even then you can only pick from a list of 30 songs. I also appreciate the whole premise of just admitting that this is nepotism at work, as opposed to AI where you have people pretending to be nobody from nowhere and actually they've already had record deals. This just strikes me as a much more straightforward and less cheesy competition.

I feel bad for him though, I'm sure he got teased for his dad leaving his mother for the woman that was giving him colonics. I can't get into Jesse Money. She looks like her dad and isn't talented enough. Plus he's too domineering. Larry Rudolph is right - she isn't special enough to make it. Still like Chloe. Her voice is awful, but so is Bjork's. I'm in Belinda's camp here. She is different and theatrical. She won't win, but I'll enjoy watching for a while. But damn girl, step away from the collagen. Maybe you'll sing better without those huge lips blocking your voice. Don't get all the love for Hammer's daughter. She's no J Hud. Lucy Walsh was the best one of the night by far. I hope her father can overcome his dislike for reality tv to show up and support her someday. I really thing she'll win this. He should be proud. The Doobie Daughter is right for MTV, but her voice isn't big enough. She's cute as a button, though. Lil B Sure and Landon Brown are going to battle for votes, since they're both the same type of music. I'm kind of pulling for Landon, but Lil has the better voice. Jesse Blaze Snyder isn't that good. Sorry. I don't think Led Zeppelin is proud of him. Does anyone else think the band is too loud? I could barely hear anyone, except Lucy who kept the arrangement sparse. I'm wondering if they did that on purpose the first night, just to make sure that none of the parents would get too embarrassed if their kid missed a note. We'd be less likely to hear the off key moments.

He's also very cute. Liked Jesse Money and Lucy Walsh. They were both good and had great attitudes and stage presence. Chloe made me nervous both to look at and listen to. Dee Snider's kid is extremely hot, but just an okay performer. Still, he's hot so he'll get votes- good choice to not wear a shirt. I kind of liked the Doobie Brothers girl. I hope she sticks around because I'm curious about what she'll do if she loosens up. Akeiba was just okay to me. I don't get the over the top reaction from the judges. She's no Jennifer Hudson. I agree, Lovejonze, the band was too loud. Also, I think the microphones were really shitty. Nobody sounded that great and they kept popping their "p's". The music seemed really loud over the vocals. Add to that the fact that a lot of them didn't have the vocals to power through and you get mediocre results.
