This show is my newest addiction...I love it sooooo much. I started watching only a few weeks ago with Battle:Citrus and have been hooked ever since. In fact, Battle:Citrus is the ONLY episode I've seen so far where the challenger has won. And I haven't seen a Cat Cora battle yet...

I wish Food Network would start rerunning those again. It seems like everyone picks either Flay or Batali. Nobody ever picks Morimoto, and Cat Cora sucks. I think she's the only Iron Chef with a losing record. How can you be one of the best when the the fry cook at the local greasy spoon can beat you?

I fell asleep with the television on the other night and thought I was dreaming when I realized Iron Chef was really on!

The Japanese one is highly entertaining, though, especially when they started putting in the pro-wrestling like rivalries and such. I just started losing interest in the Japanese ones. Too much foie gras, squid ink soup, sea cucumbers, etc.

She's creative. Oh and I totally agree with whoever said the Japanese version had too much foie gras, I swear they used that shit every night.

Also, I did some research, and apparently the chefs are given a list of 5 ingredients that may be the secret ingredient, that way they can plan their menus. I guess I am interested to know if that is true, and if it is, how does that work with the Breakfast one??? Interesting.

When you compare the complexity of the american dishes, it's pretty obvious that the "secret"'s been out for a while beforehand.

IC America's main problem was its lack of humor. That and Cora was beaten more than a red-headed step-child and watching Bobby Flay make a taco for the 700th time grew boring. Actually, watching Morimoto get fatter & fatter was kind of amusing.

I'm so excited! There's the theme song from Back Draft! "If ever a challenger wins over the Iron Chef, he or she will gain the people's ovation and fame forever!" Look, it's the chairman in his spotted cow shirt! The challenger is a German who owns a French restaurant so I assume he will challenge Hiroyuki Sakai. Oh, Hattorisan. Oh, Ohta. Fukuasan, you have been away too long. Oh, surprise! The challenger chose Michibasan! He was afraid to challenge the DelaCroix of French cuisine! Well, it's on to the Battle of Bell Pepper! Should be quite a battle!
