Your a jerk. Your not half the man Mark is. |

The relationship was not one of love. On TV, they looked very cold to eachother (which is strange because Mark always came off so warm and genial).
And Mark never introducing the CHOICE that was hers to make. She was taken aback when he told her to quit her job; she wasn't even expecting it and didn't look very pleased about it either. All I can say is this is EXTREMELY shaky foundation to bring four kids in. |

And your making this judgement based on 2 minutes of seeing them on TV......you need a life.

Look at the words used and the body language.
This is why you sucked on the mole. |

Wow...you are a complete idiot!
Just as grassip.molehypogroup said, you made all these judgements based on 2 minutes of TV time??? Maybe they just don't like to show PDA. And how do you know they haven't been talking about her not working for YEARS??? I doubt Mark just said "You woman! You at home! You cook and babies! Me man...me work!" I am sure they have talked about it and him "surprising" her was just him giving her what they both wanted. Stop making up drama just because you are bored. |

Like I said you saw 2 minutes of them. I've talked to both of them about this so I think I have a bit more insight on
the matter.

First of all, she DIDN'T know about Mark's desire to have her quit. That was confirmed on the show.
Mark told her she would be quitting her job to stay at home with the kids. He didn't even let her in on the decision-making. And that's textbook sexism. It's her life and her choice; she should have a say in the decision process. Not just be sprung on national television. She was not pleased. |

My type wouldn't make it on the show because we would instantly know who the mole is (and are capable of taking tests). After week 1, the show would be over. |

You really have no idea what your talking about. Good luck with your non existent career in psychology and re-watch that last episode some more http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=VENys4KKguk&feature=PlayList&p=D98ED28976438307&index=49

Okay, maybe I was out of line, but I still think it far too presumptuous that she would just suddenly give up her career and be happy about it.

Most people hate their jobs so maybe she wants to spend more time with her children and less time at work. We were both out of line. Sorry for calling you a
jerk.....I just really like Mark. He is a great guy.

In the first episode, he said staying home with the kids is something that SHE always wanted, but they couldn't afford it. This was a gift he could give
to her by winning the show. It's not like he won and then was demanding that she stay home against her will.

Pay no attention to Urban. He knows nothing about hetero relationships much less marriage.

Okay, well, I was out of line. At least I'm able to admit it. It's only that when the whole scene played out on the TV, it seemed a little
wrong at the time. I didn't see the first episode or really know what Mark's wife truly wants.
As an amends, I crossed out the post, and hopefully Mark isn't scared away if he wants to post here. |

To Whom it May Concern:
I am Brenda Lambrechts sister, and Marks sister-in-law, and I can confirm that her being able to stay home with the kids has been a dream of hers for a long time. I think it is great that Mark wanted to give that to her as a gift. My husband would love to do that too, but for us it is not a possibility. Realistically though the $420,000 will end up being around $200,000 after taxes and may possibly be able to let her "not work" maybe until the new baby makes it to kindergarden, and the two older girls are out of the home at college. Most likely she will return to "work" at some point. I know that she was "in shock" when he was revealed as the winner, and he told her why he wanted to win. It was a lot to process emotionally, on national TV, in front of everyone...including her employers. It was something they had dreamed of and suddenly it was coming true (at least for a while). I am sure that the fact that her boss was watching ran through her mind, as well as the fact that it would probably be just for a few years. Remember, she has worked more than one job at a time her entire life, and this will be a big change for her (one that she will enjoy) but never the less a big change. Indeed the day she returned to work (her main job) after the finale her employers asked her what she was going to do, and she is staying until the end of September (unless the baby comes early) giving them time to hire someone for her position and her to train. They were incredibly gracious about the whole situation. Many employers would have been a lot less understanding. I don't know if you have ever had a "big surprise" or not, but I know that everyone responds differently to those kinds of things...I actually get very quiet when I am very happily surprised by something. Others jump and down and scream. Brenda was Brenda, and I know that she is very happy that something they have dreamed of is coming true, but change is not always easy, even if it's good. So please give her and Mark a break. They are really great people (yes I am biased) but truly...Pauls response to your comments should convince you that they are not who you initially assumed they were. By the way Paul...thanks for standing up for Mark and Brenda. I hope you get that "lemon endorsement" Lora Jones |

Thanks for posting that. Of course her reaction was understandable.
Now that you realize we don't bite, can you get Mark to post here?? :) |

Oh, well that's too bad. I thought that Kathy Griffin had posted here after her win, but maybe they changed the contract.
And Paul, thanks for defending Mark. He really is well-liked here, but there are always people that see things a different way. And your daughter is absolutely adorable! |
