My sister and her worthless turd of a husband are doing just this while we speak. My parents don't WANT to keep having them live with them, while they selfishly send their two clueless daughters to college. My sister did this without even discussing it my folks. Now they feel over a barrel on the issue. If they say "you have to move out and figure out your own way to put your girls thro school" my sister will go into one of her freak fits (nervous breakdowns) and make my parents out to be the bad guys to my nieces and they can't handle that. Of course my BIL knows this so he sits on his ass all day being a "man of faith" (he's an ex-pastor. His church got rid of him for being a lazy ass do-nothing that they could never seem to find). If it were me, I'd be just fine with being the bad guy. I keep telling my mom that if she sets a boundary as in kick their irresponsible asses out then my sis and her family WILL figure out something. As it is, they don't have to. It's a freaking co-dependent mess.

I can understand your anger. For me it has nothing to do with money, an inheritance or any of that shit. I just hate the whole manipulative crap that's going on and just think that people that 49 and 52 years old should have learned how to be responsible by now. It's fucking pathetic. I can't hardly stand to be around my sis and her family anymore.

They are shit for brains. They never plan out anything sensibly. They just "trust God" and keep making one stupid decision after another with their crazy perspective. Last summer my mom and I went to the mall with my sis and my nieces. She didn't have two nickels to rub together and she wanted to find out if she could get two Mac computers for her girls from the Apple store! She literally thought that somehow, some way, God would just plop two brand new computers on her because she had "faith". She kept having her girls fill out credit applications when neither one of them have jobs and my sister's credit is completely wrecked cause they've lived a life of living way beyond their means. They just kept spending "believing God will provide". My mom and I just kept saying, "Uh, Kel...what makes you think you can do this?" Of course she got really pissed that we questioned her and said we "weren't helping". :rolleyes

Every day I hate it that they moved back to our city. It was so much easier when they lived their goofball life from a distance.

I agree with darlingal that you can at least ask why she helps them when it seems to be putting her at an undo hardship.

Me neither. I think it's me and my siblings job to HELP our parents in their old age, not sponge off them. At least me and my brother hold up our end of the log. Turd-in-law won't do anything for his folks unless they PAY him cause he says, "well, they'd have to pay someone to do it anyway". His folks are really in bad shape and he won't so much as offer to do shit for them. His brother from Salt Lake City has to fly in to Tulsa to help them when they really need it.
