During the recap at the end of the show, Porkchop is given at least 5 seconds more camera time than the others. Porkchop gets a tongue-bath from the judges when if it was ANYBODY else, they would say it was boring.

When it's down to this few, the first and the last spot are the most important.... esp if they are accompanied by good comments from the judges. the obvious refusal to acknowledge that David A has sung the same fucking song every week is what pisses me off. This stupid fuck sings a ballad every week and yet Simon never says shit about it...

At Top 8, the first spot is death, inescapably this season. At Top 7, the first spot is definitely not a pimp spot, with 3 Bottoms, one of which was an elimination. At Top 6, a miracle happens and no one even hits the Bottom. At Top 5, the first spot sends a lot of people to the Bottom 2 (the 2nd spot is one of two INESCAPABLE DEATH SPOTS). At Top 4, the first spot is a death spot, with 2 eliminations. At Top 3, the first spot is the other INESCAPABLE DEATH SPOT. At Top 2, the first spot has resulted only in one winner (Ruben).

They are the only people left who could have a platinum selling CD. The reason they changed the format of the Hollywood rounds, got rid of the group round and toned down Simon so much was to avoid eliminating any major talent too early. Last year they dumped half of the contestants on the very first day because Simon was in a bad mood, with disasterous results. Almost all the decent white girls were already gone before the second round STARTED. They want a winner who can sell loads of CDs. Period. If other contestants do well, that's great but sort of irrelevant to their main purpose.

David Cook gets mostly praise, light shows, and now standing ovations, for doing the same thing every week, and is told doing the same thing every week is original. I wouldn't care as much if they didn't crap on everyone else. The show is supposed to be about entertainment, not telling America that everyone but the two or three people the producers like suck. Somewhere along the way, American Idol seems to have forgotten entertainment.

But I think the judges love David Cook more, so they are trying desperately to pimp him out to the max. I seriously hope one of them gets cut before the finale so there is not a completely dull and predictable all-David finale. I think they may want Archuleta to leave right before the finale, like Melinda, since this season he seems to be Melinda (only she was a much better performer) and David Cook is the Jordin (only Jordin was a much less consistent performer, and more annoying). Then Jason (who has a good fan base but he'll never be able to do one of those crappy winner songs), or Syesha, or whoever, would lose to David Cook without a real fight. I almost hope the show is stuck with Archuleta and his stage father as the winner, instead of who they want. That would be what they get for how poorly this season has been structured.
