Cowboy Bebop 2. Outlaw Star 3. Fullmetal Alchemist 4. Tenchi Muyo (pick your series, because they're all stand-alones, but my personal fav is Tenchi in Tokyo) 5. Death Note 6. Ghost in the Shell 7. Inu Yasha 8. Ergo Proxy 9. Case Closed 10. The Original Season of Pokemon! Ok ya'll, there must be some other anime geeks on Sucks! Let's discuss. For a short series, how could you not have included Elfen Lied instead? In terms of all time greatest anime, how can a 24 ep series compare to the impact of say DBZ or Naruto? I liked it, Spike is a great character, don't get me wrong, just too short to be #1 for me. 2. Outlaw Star - See above, but at least you have a good taste in the sci-fi. Tsubasa Chronicles was as good as/better than this old series. 3. Fullmetal Alchemist - should have been rated higher. Sure the fangirls ruined this series for me on the message boards but this was a truly classic show, anime or not. Great tv. 4. Tenchi Muyo (pick your series, because they're all stand-alones, but my personal fav is Tenchi in Tokyo) - Old but good. 5. Death Note - Nowhere near (hehe) as good as the manga, but a damn fine bit of anime which held on to the touch of the manga as well as any anime I've seen. 6. Ghost in the Shell - fun to watch, but boring. 7. Inu Yasha - too long 8. Ergo Proxy - I really enjoyed this actually, slow build and a well crafted world 9. Case Closed - never seen it 10. The Original Season of Pokemon! - no How could you not have - Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, Elfen Lied, HELLSING ULTIMATE!, Shaman King, Samurai Deeper Kyo, Full Moon??? Elfen Lied is bar none the best anime ever made for what it was. Just saying. -SJ™

If you remove all the FILLER from Naruto, it truly is great, but those extra 70 or so eps really messed up the flow. Sorry if that's a spoiler but trust me those who watch in English, once a certain couple shinobi who have been together since the start end their fight, the rest is bullshit till Shippuuden starts. -SJ™

That said, after the Bickochou (sp), Curry of Life and other lame filler arcs, when they did the time jump and went to Shippuuden, it was actually worth the wait. 45 eps in and some of the most intense stuff I've seen yet the best shit is still to come. Glad to see that the thread isn't dead! haha how can a 24 ep series compare to the impact of say DBZ or Naruto? I liked it, Spike is a great character, don't get me wrong, just too short to be #1 for me. Because as an adolescent child, DBZ was AMAZING!! I'm now 18, and looking back, DBZ sucks... Fight scenes spanning for episodes on end is not what I enjoy. It's possibly the LEAST complex anime ever. It reminds me of button masher video games. And Naruto, I just CAN'T get into it. I think they goofed with the main character. I've never seen a more unlikable one that Naruto. If not for him, I'd probably actually watch. And if you're talking about impact, then how can you NOT like Outlaw Star? It was one of the first sci fi space action animes that American saw, and it was very sweet. The plot was fantastic, the bad guys were cool, and most of the characters were highly complex for only a 24 episode series. Oh, I LOVE Bleach so far. How could I not forget?! But I got kinda frustrated early on with Ichigo's early omnipotent powers and how he just happend to magically kick arse time and time again. I mean, watching anime, you're supposed to have suspension of disbelif and all, but come on. FMA- Yeah I agree with ya. The fangirls/boys (yes, there's fanboys for this series too) are hyper annoying, but ti still doesn't take way from the series for me. If anything, the Naruto nerds are annoying to me. One Piece, I saw the first 4 episodes and never watched again. Sue me. I never knew you watched anime SJ!!!!! lol Oh and I don't read manga but I should get into it. 6. Ghost in the Shell - fun to watch, but boring. Come on, you can't call GITS boring. If it's not your type of genre, sure, but mixing sci fi, political/social science, and good old fashioned cyborg ass kicking is sweet to me! In fact, I think it's one of the more unique animes of our day and age.

I watched a total of 15 episodes and then gave up because every character was so unlikeable. I'm also glad you didn't list Dragonball. Classic, yes. But not really compelling. FMA <3 <3 <3 (I didn't read the boards so I was insulated from the fangirls/fanboys and thus, didn't taint this amazing series)
