The first episode I saw was Mitchell's boot in Australia (AXN-Asia). I did not catch it from the beginning of the episode but right at the immunity challenge. When Kucha won and Jeff gave them the idol, and told Ogakor they were going to tribal council, I was confused. I thought, "They won and they only got a piece of ugly wood. And the other team lost but they were going to some vacation spot? What's going on?" I stayed in front of the TV because I was somehow intrigued....

Starting watching with the first season finale in fifth grade. Picked Rich as my favorite to win.

Missed the premiere of Outback because my parents wouldn't let me stay up to watch it after the Super Bowl. Tina was my favorite from the beginning, though I switched to Colby at some point.

Also remember thinking that the tribe switch in Africa was the coolest. thing. ever. Even if it screwed over, my then-favorite Silas.

Though I saw S1 rebroadcast during the Olympics and was a casual viewer of S2, I really only became a big fan watching Kathy in S4 and Jenna Mm and Rob C in S6. I like strong female characters and good gameplay postmerge. So Micronesia was like a return to the golden age for me.

I really think you need some kind of switch or twist every season - the "purity" of the early seasons breeds boring pagonging. I liked how in Micronesia those who lost did so through their own...

In terms of overproducing the show, that's where they have started to lose me. I have no tolerance for seasons with massive, complicated twists, huge casts, four tribes, multiple swaps, final 3 voting, double eliminations, etc. One the show becomes more about the twists and less about the players, that's where they start to lose me. My first episode was the premier of Thailand. After that suck fest, went back and watched the first four seasons. Have been a loyal fan (and lurker) since then.

It was probably somewhere around there. Although if you look at the listing on Amazon.com, you will see that the title of the first season is officially "Survivor: The First Complete Season." The only place it is listed as "Borneo" is on the logo. And even that is a recent change. For years that logo was blank. It just said "Survivor" across it.

I thought Panama had a great cast and its the bet pot all stars season imo(though using All Stars as a meter annoys me like it does Ravu,I rate things season to season). It was overedited though. I've watched from the beginning and never missed an episode. That said, I agree with Sensei that the last couple of seasons (with the exception of Fans vs Faves) really blew chunks. If they get back to the original premise I think the show could last awhile yet.

RavuRules made an interesting point about perspective concerning individual Survivor seasons in another thread and it got me thinking. I happen to be one of the ones who started with the first episode of Borneo which i still consider the best of the best. (In most ways) I'm curious as to which season YOU started with and especially your thoughts on the previous outings you missed when you got around to viewing them.
