My family is totally the opposite of Scotty's family. If Kevin came to talk to my parents, my dad would kick the shit out of him. My mom would chase after Kevin as he was leaving and give him the earrings she wore at her wedding to give to me.

I only know the actress that plays Scotty's mom as the bitch from "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead." I guess that shows MY age...

I also loved that Fred from Roseanne was the dad...

This gay wedding is significant because it had the most flowers and because it was the most normal seeming thing that happened in an episode that included near-incest and barren straight people and the discovery of another illegitimate child.

Thanks - I forgot about the Friends wedding. I also recall the gay wedding on Roseanne. There must be a few others on tv. But I just realized how this one is different. After reading an article in the Boston Globe, I realized this is the first gay wedding with a series regular and not just a recurring character. I read that Scotty's even becoming a series regular for next season. That's pretty cool that it wasn't overly advertised or anything for May sweeps. Maybe they didn't...

I just started watching this show after the writer's strike ended. I love Scotty and Kevin, especially Kevin. The mother's pretty cool and the family interactions are very realistic (albeit funnier than my interactions with my siblings). I just don't know how I feel about Rebecca and Justin.
