I just rewatched Season One and part of Season Two again...what a great show.

I laughed and cried all over again even though I've seen those episodes a half a dozen times.

Ah yeah, Roseanne.

Sopranos, Mad Men...their lead characters are much more OTT. Most people don't know a Tony Soprano or a Don Draper in real life. The Fishers could be almost anyone. At least trait-wise, hopefully not their circumstances.

I thought "Roseanne" was the first show to have characters watching tv? But if memory serves, in 6FU, we got to see the sometime hallucinatory things that were on the tv screen.

I think the show is very emotional to watch, but it had a lightness too that made it accessible & engaging. I find other equally great shows (sopranos, mad men) even more intense emotionally, and yet I can watch those episodes over and over. I really don't get it.

The unique thing about this show is that watching it (and rewatching) can get downright exhausting. There is so much emotion involved in every episode that it's a total rollercoaster from beginning to end. You really have to be in a right "mood" just to watch one episode. The subject matter, themes, arcs touch on every single aspect of behavior that I don't think that has been topped by any other show....its why I love it. You get a lot more out of it after seeing it once...

I have the badass series box set and I keep telling myself to re-watch from the beginning and I never do; I actually have some down time between projects right now and it's something I'm considering finally doing.

I have the series on DVD, and have rewatched it, usually with someone who has never seen it.

I rarely dig them out to rewatch, but when I do, I love it.

I think there are some episodes I'd love to see again, especially those with Kathy Bates teaching Ruth to be "wicked". And ther was one episode that features a lot of women, again one of them Kathy Bates, and a Patricia (whose last name I forget right now). Was it a funeral? See? this is why I'd love to watch a few episodes again and even a few scenes from those episodes I don't want to watch in their entirety. And the finale, of course.

6FU is one of those shows that simply can't be rewatched because it was so beautiful and needs to be kept forever in the memories. :D

HBO in Toronto is currently re-running every episode of SFU and I'm recording all of them to DVD. It started out a little slowly, but it sure is coming along beautifully.

I just re-watched the first or second episode where Arthur comes to the house. After watching this episode, I was reminded of some of the reasons why I think this was one of the best TV series ever. It was just masterfully written.

I remember when I first saw the ending, I would cry just hearing the music. Didn't even have to see the visual. They were more $*#@* of satisfaction of a job well done than sadness. The sadness that came was because I wouldn't be seeing my "friends" anymore, but at least I didn't have to wonder what became of them. Thanks for posting that final 10 minutes, so I can enjoy it again.
