The cost of hiring a lawyer to pursue this is probably going to be the biggest thing holding him back. One lawyer that he spoke to estimated it would take about $4,000 or more, depending on how many times they had to go to court.

It's been speculated that the mom was indeed a ho, since she was/is unmedicated bipolar nutso and sometimes was awfully friendly with some guys they knew. Plus? My friend had some medical test done about a year ago that said he was sterile. BUT...

If he's that hard up on health I'm assuming he also doesn't have a lot of cash laying around. Unless she was a ho, the mother knows whether or not he's the father and will go for SS after he's dead. Some bitch tried to claim my ex as her baby daddy after he died 'cuz she found out how much my son was getting. She seriously thought they would just fly with it and fork over the dough. They didn't. He wants to know for the sake of knowing, plus he's in really bad health, and he wants for the kid to be able to get death benefits from the government should he die. He's in no shape physically to help care for a child, but if it's his he wants to help financially if possible.

Well, he may be a moron. He does realize that if she is receiving any kind of state assistance and he is legally determined to be the father, then the STATE can go after him for support whether she wants it or not? Anyway, if the mom is willing to do the paternity test, they can take a family trip to the local clinic and have cheek swabs done but they have to pay out of pocket. Why does he want to do a paternity test if the ex is not requesting support? Does he actually want to be involved in the raising of the block of cheese?

She posted a pic of the kid on Facebook, and it looks JUST like this guy's baby pictures.

Is he paying Child Support? If so, I would guess that would give him some grounds for demanding the test.

If not, I'm not sure he has much chance.

A guy I know thinks he has a kid with his ex, but he's never met the kid because the ex took off with the kid as soon as it was born.

He wants to know if he can have a court order a paternity test, and how to go about making this happen.

I'm sure some of you people must know about these things.
