I didn't see any of that, but I did have an Irish Egg Roll, which turned out to be corned beef and cabbage in an eggroll shell, fried and served with mustard. Now I'm not a big fan of corned beef but I do admit this was pretty tasty.

The pictures dont do it justice - I always loved the BBQ Turkey leg (as big as it sounds) and Ricobene's is excellent

I find that for the most part I avoid the been-there done-that places and try the new stuff - a little pricey but cool.

And free concerts every night - tonight was Counting Crows. Music not as good as Summerfest in Milwaukee but have seen some great stuff over the years for nada.

In all honesty that line about "Chicago's Top Restaurants" came straight from the Taste web site. In reality the top restaurants are all too busy to bother with the Taste of Chicago.

I've been to The Taste several times, but I don't think you could pay me to go again, unless it was 70 degrees with 10% humidity. I almost passed out from the heat the last time I was there.

The world's largest food festival, the 29th annual Taste Of Chicago, gets underway today at Grant Park in Chicago. Featuring a diverse selection of cuisine from many of Chicago's top restaurants, the Taste regularly attracts between 3-4 million visitors during its 10-day run.
